How exactly does it decide which games to show?

I find it amusing that it is currently showing this:

Good Kid defeated Player2 10547963 2/19/2016 14:05:18 Player2: 1062, Good Kid: 1131

I'm baffled that it decided to show a ladder game between two players rated under 1200 over when there were things like this:

CultixPhoenix defeated Super Smoove 10489946 2/20/2016 04:18:31 Super Smoove: 1915, CultixPhoenix: 2029

that weren't shown.

I more meant, how does it determine which games to show. ie. Why did it decide a game between two people under 1200 rating was of more interest than two players around 2000 rating.

I used to like this feature a lot. But then it just got spammed with all 1v1 small earth coin games. Now I don't look at it any more.

It would be nice if there was a cap on every type of game shown in that list. Like there shouldn't be more than 15% games from the 1v1 ladder etc.


As to how the algorithm works, based on observation I would say, it generally picks top N ladder games in the last X hours. If the top N is among weak players, I guess it shows it anyway. It also seems to look for key words(like Clan league etc). I played a game on the seasonal template(used the same title - Season X) and that game showed up on the list too.

EDIT: Seems like the % of coin games on the list is considerably lower now. Not sure if it has been updated recently.

I think Fizzer said it in a stream once. I think each category (e.g coin, 1v1 ladder etc) is holde within a range (5-10 games) if possible.

Only reasons I could think it' show my game, was if it went off my peak rating rather than current rating, or if it somehow detected long winstreaks,
