Those six have actually been accepted, they're removed as they're no longer merely candidates. There's another tab that lists accepted managers.

We had a 2 hour stream yesterday after the WGL(as planned). We went over the concept and answered all questions posted in twitch. If there are any further questions, please post them here.

Had a busy WE so came too late but I guess you want very available people so it's only fair. Anyway if there is a minor league competing for promotion in the premier league <_< I apply for a manager position.

Also I am worried the deadline has been hurried a bit. Not sure all clans have been invited or invited early enough for example. The pool of available players need to be big to be interesting for managers, even though that would make a lot of disappointed people, but hence the minr league (or an extended league with more than 6 teams).

I have questions.

Can we explain more the role of manager as it sounds like they buy players as the beginning of the season and trade at the end of it and nothing more apart from interacting with their team (making sure noones misses), then maybe choosing the team for each game. Am I missing something ?

Who are the other organizers (if any) of this brilliant idea ?

Have clans been invited ?

What were the criteria to choose the managers ?

Couldn't a draft system (NBA like) be added for the off season ? Giving weakest teams priority on top players newly available for next season ?

Questions for manager.

1. If a player has announced he would play for 10 games could you put him down for 5 games by mutual agreement?

2. Could you confirm when the players buckets + base prices be confirmed?

3. Can a manager employ a caretaker manager (someone to take over your team in case of sudden life situations e.g death of family) With permission and authorisation from League Commisioner?

We've given it a week. I understand that a lot of players don't read the forums frequently. But every effort has been made to spread awareness via clan leaders etc. The pool is quite big at the moment with managers having a lot to choose from. I'm willing to keep the sign ups open, but the new players can only play for group B at this point as I want to move ahead with the auction for Group A.

Nope that's about it. A manager can do anything they like, to make sure a club's players get along. They can coach their own players(or get someone to coach) to improve general skill level in their club. I'm leaving this up to the individual managers.

Who are the other organizers (if any) of this brilliant idea ?

Master Jz and me have been working on the format. I also have a few folks who've helped with estimating base prices for players(won't reveal who). We also have a score-keeper(will be revealed later).

Have clans been invited ?

This is not a clan-based activity. But I have asked a lot of people to spread the word. Especially clan leaders.

What were the criteria to choose the managers ?

Managers were asked to answer a set of questions aimed at testing their knowledge of this league. They were also asked to estimate player buckets and build a few sample teams.

Couldn't a draft system (NBA like) be added for the off season ? Giving weakest teams priority on top players newly available for next season ?

We're looking into this for season 2.

You can bid below the base price for a player signed up for 10 games(5 game players have to be sold for at least the base price). Any bid below the base price for a 10 game player, automatically assumes that you intend to play them for only 5 games. If there is another higher bid from any manager, you will obviously lose the bid. Players don't control how many games they play. It is solely up to managers.

2. Could you confirm when the players buckets + base prices be confirmed?

Hopefully in a day or two.

3. Can a manager employ a caretaker manager (someone to take over your team in case of sudden life situations e.g death of family) With permission and authorisation from League Commisioner?

Yes.

I guess it's too late for suggesting this but couldn't the auction be replaced with a draft ? So every team is assured good players. Otherwise teams underestimating players value or opponent bids or being too scared to go bankrupt could end up losing all the best players. In a draft every team could have one "star" (From bucket 1) guaranteed and build up around him.

Read up on how the auction is planned. You can always bid the base price for a player(every club really should, they have nothing to lose). So clubs won't be scared of going bankrupt :)

Estimating player values is all part of the fun. I think the economy is structured so as to prevent too many star players in a team(you just won't have the money).

That's the managers own fault, they've already made sure they've got managers who are sensible enough to build up reasonable teams and estimate players worth about right. Not all the bucket 1 players will be equal, in fact that will probably be one of the most diverse in skill buckets, so some would end up with much stronger players if they just get assigned.

And managers may come up with interesting strategies like not buying the best players so don't have to buy weaker players later on to make savings.

It just makes it unfair and kind of removes the point for managers.

As long as it is still open (I was told it was for one more day) I would like to join.

10 games, I prefer 1v1 games, but I have no problem in collaborating on a team.

Ok well i'm not sure about this

A max bid for each player in the group.
Say if X and Y are managers who bid for player P.
If X has max = 60
If Y has max = 65
Y will win this bid and the price for the player P will be 61 Nohhams( 1 greater than the best max bid)

-> Shouldn't the value of the player be 66 otherwise I can bid 400 (or say 250 for a more realistic 6 players team) and win the player at its highest market value after my bid. Unless another manager does the same of course now that I have said that^^. Or i guess this could be a strategy which would work only once maybe ?

Btw will managers know groups 2 to 7 from day 1 so they can plan their auction or will other groups be decided later ?

I'm not a manager but doesn't matter as long as my questions clear some possible doubts^.

Another thing :

Unless bucket 8 players are free, there should be a maximum total bidding value for every manager at every turn, depending on how many players they want to bid on (or depending on how many players they plan to bid on on later rounds).

For example if a manager targets 3 players in group 1, it should be impossible to bid all their 400 on the 3 players wages included, even if they expect to secure only 1 of them. As they still have 3 spots minimum to fill. It may be obvious but it's not specified page 1.

Stream not saved

Mike you are trying to put in too many things to help managers, MotD picked them based on their knowledge and understanding of the system, and if they mess up and waste all their money on 3 players and fail to field a team for enough games then they don't deserve to be manager.

If I get it right that it is still possible to join for group B player pool, I'd like to do so with ten games.
If not - plz count me in as soon as it is possible to join again. ;-)

Facts about me:
- team player
- no boots (or at least close to no boots, you never know what real life throws in your way)
- good at huge maps
- good knowledge of most standard maps
- solid (though far from perfect) play on all maps and with all settings (I can read settings!!!)

Sounds interesting, I'll join as a player for 10 games.

I'm probably in the top third of WL players for skill, so I do decently well at 1v1. I've found I'm a better team player than solo, so my 2v2 is generally better than my 1v1. This probably extends to 3v3 but I haven't done much 3v3.

I don't particularly care for unbalanced maps, as this tends to give wins to the people who got the luckier starts. This typically means I don't care for most of the larger maps, since they're very difficult to properly balance. I really like the Small Earth template.
