The Illuminati clan is accepting new initiate applications, we are the biggest Clan on Warlight.
Also, i noticed the layout of the clans are not alphabetical or by number of members, so how is the clan structure used to judge which clan is at the top, as our group has the most members but is not in first place?

The order of the clans is based on how many points they have accumulated all together.

no one cares about amount of clan members, sure VIW and REGL have the most members but are they the best? no, and illumati seems like a clan intent on one goal: as many members as possible. Lets see how you guys fare in the clan league :)

Trolling aside, this clan has popped up out of nowhere and is recruiting a huge number of people (I apparently have an invitation as well, despite being able to see I have a clan already).

My point to all this is this: is there a functional clan structure or is this just a way to parade around the name of one of the most notorious groups/symbols of our modern age?

If players do not play, the number of members makes no difference. You could have 1 or 100 inactives/alts/forum trolls and you would still be the lowest. Try playing the game rather than flaunting your 'no requirements' policy which you, no doubt, have. With your vast numbers you should at least move up to second last. I know this is a big jump, but do not worry! You have the forum's support. You just have to believe in yourself...

Of course they have the lowest rank. They've only just bought the clan slot. They were hardly likely to start off with more points than the other clans have collected so far.

If they have popped out of no where so what? They are recruiting a large number of people? Oh Noez!

Warlight has a clan system now, warlight ranks clans this kind of shocking behavoir where people make clans and recruit people is going to happen.

As far as I'm aware it does not matter how long you have had the clan for. The order is determined by the cumulative amount of points your members have stacked up.

clan rankings are undated every 24 hours. the reason you see this clan at the bottom is because clan was created toda- and rankings have not updated yet.

I have nothing against the clan, I just think it's...interesting to say the least. And like L said, they're better off playing the game instead of recruiting absolutely every person they can with their no requirements basis.

All that aside, it's all good, the more clans the better. Fizzer is working on an update for clans, so it will get a lot more interesting soon, I hope.

@Pulsey: Forgot about that, my bad ^^ and congrats on becoming the first Familiar in the clan :D You'll be the grand illuminist before the end of the week if you keep it up :D

If the clan is fun for the players and they learn from or enjoy the experience of being in the clan, what is wrong with there being clans for everyone.

No one here is under any obligation to join them.
And if you feel so strongly against low req clans you should be merry that you can more easily identify the players through their clan tags and avoid them.

Warlighters, Regl and 101st were all at one point attacked for the things most of the commentators here find so rephrensible in this clan. Namely they had lower pre-reqs than other clans at the time or peope thought there leaders weren't good enough to join an existing clan, nevermind lead one. They all three, seem to be doing better now, and I'd guess people in those clans would say they learned with their clan.
