Allright guys, here is the link where you can check my progress on the Syria Re-Work. My goals then, are:

-Split up the huge mega bonuses into more manageable ones.
- Fix any found missing connections.
- Add a bit of art

If you have suggestions for how to split up the mega bonuses, see any missing connections, or anything else while I am reworking this map, please feel free to reply here!

Hey there! I remember working on a Syrian Civil War template at one point, and something I found to be problematic were the cities.

I think it's brilliant how they exist, and are identified in their own bonuses, but only Damascus has multiple territories, and I think it'd be cool if some of the cities were further divided, or represented in boxes, like these maps:

I think that'd greatly influence the importance of cities (which are the main conflicts in Syria. See: Aleppo, Daraa, Damascus, etc)

In this map, I added optional 1-territory bonuses for cities, and every one except for Damascus is set to zero- which is why you don't see them during normal gameplay. I considered dividing the cities into further territories, but I feel that would push a permanent imbalance towards the cities. The only reason why Damascus is set up the way it is is to respect the administrative district "Rif Dimesq". Otherwise it would have been incorporated into the megabonus around it.

All of the bonuses have now been set in place. Now all I have to do Is adjust the positions and names of the bonuses, and then I will be finished with the rework.

Any special reason why Damascus is the only city that is not 0 by default?

I forgot about changing that... that was in there since 1.0... probably a good idea to fix that... It was originally in there to try to balance that region out... I created the map before I had any perception of balance, so that was why it was terribly balanced in the first place...
