^ Nice idea for a drinking game indeed, I would join this definitely.

But seriously, read up this discussion, and read previous other ones, and you would see I am not the one starting the whole thing about US vs Europe.

Conservative this is again what I meant about your ignorance of how European states work. First of all, Europe is not a country, it is composed of different nations, with different systems, Europe is diversity, so putting the whole Europe into one system is totally wrong. Secondly, most of the Western European states have no government directly controlling every aspects of a citizen's life. I dont know where did you get this, but I would like to see your own source of this.

No, don't do the drinking game. You will die from alcohol poisoning.

Also, I think everyone but Hitchslap and Jai understand that the graph was most likely intended to be an exaggeration intended to be comedic. Any comedic value it has is at the expense of Republicans, so you decide for yourself how funny it is, but I'm pretty sure it was intended to be a joke.

LOL HITCHSLAP WHERE DID YOU GET THAT GRAPH??!!

Looks really professional, accurate, and not biased when you have the creator using childish vocabulary and phrases: "flat-earth society", "stuck in mud", "believes in science", "dog-whistlers". Please. Who wrote this? A 13 year old with Paint? Come back when you have a real argument.

It Wasn't meant to be professional nor accurate nor unbiased. It's just a way for me to avoid going over all the differents views of the republican candidate vs the democrats regarding climate change. That would be too tedious to do, and it is a well know fact anyway that almost every candidate in the republican primary reject the scientific evidences backing climate change. This graph sums it up accurately enough for the purpose of my point, and with humour. I could do the same for the theory of evolution, wich is even more embarassing for some of the republican candidate. These idiotic views some of the republican have lead to some idiodic policies.

Don't worry Koala. The United States of Europe is coming. Soon enough you will be relieved of your nationality and ethnicity, and you can pray to Merkel and Hollande at the Notre Dame cathedral!!

LOL YOU ARE HIGH! WHEN DID EVOLUTION COME UP DURING ANY OF THE REPUBLICAN DEBATES??? Also it wasn't really funny. I thought my chafee meme was better xD.

Oh another thing :

While China is an authoritarian nation, they do have a degree of democracy in their government in the form of Meritocracy. They would never let some spineless farmer rule the country. In fact, it takes as many as 20 years of displayed administrative prowess sometimes to become the Executive - equivalent there.

I think that elections in America oft aren't like this.

If we were to follow the Chinese model, Trump would be our best option. He has handled many businesses very well. Hillary is mounted with scandals and inefficiency. Trump likely only acts the way he does because he feels he has nothing to prove : his credentials are already in place.

This article speaks to what Genghis was talking about: http://foreignpolicy.com/2015/10/19/china-democracy-theory-communist-party-politics-model/

American meritocracy is a failure. When a minority racial group succeeds (Asian-Americans) at the expense of another (African Americans), Liberals are quick to blame pure meritocratic standardized tests as inherently racially biased even when those succeeding on the test come from families on the same economic ladders. That's why affirmative action exists...to artificially raise the requirements of Asian Americans and Jews to get into colleges while lowering the standards needed to gain access to America's top public and private universities for traditionally low quality minority applicants. Data shows that an Asian American needs 400 points higher on the SAT as an African American to get into the same university. That's supposed to be democratically fair...that's supposed to be "progressive".

1.) Why do you people continue to believe Trump has no chance? He will almost certainly win the GOP nomination, and polls show him beating Hillary. He is the only Republican who can attract Dems.
2.) Why do you people think Hillary is going to win? She has more baggage than a 757 crossing the Atlantic, may be indicted for several federal offenses, loses to pretty much every Republican candidate in head-to-heads. Her trust ratings are lower than the ocean floor. Hell, Bernie has a good chance of getting the nomination. She's less insparational than a starfish.

Jai, in France we call this "discrimination positive" (the policy of favoring members of a disadvantaged group who suffer from discrimination within a culture).

And I also dont think this is the right answer, and it is against the very principles of Meritocracy, that's why we shall condemn this.

Koala? my arrogance? so far your defense was very light. you didt answer my charges and brushed me off using the fact that I am not European to support you. basically, you just avoided me because you didt know about the Austrian Court system thing and didt want to be put on the spot. the fact si nothing I have stated is untrue on Europe. European governments have much control over there citizens. for instance, In many European Countries its almost illegal to even own a firearm. defense is a right and it has been denied in many European countries. please stop making personal attacks and just behave normally.

I'm calling bullshit on that.

btw i always found it weird that everytime you fill a document in the US, you have to indicate your "race". This is such an outdated concept.

Call bullshit all you want. Its the truth: "To top the fear, a National Study of College Experience led by Espenshade and Radford (2009) showed that a student who self-identifies as Asian will need 140 SAT points higher than whites, 320 SAT points higher than Hispanics, and 450 SAT points higher than African Americans."

http://www.apa.org/pi/oema/resources/ethnicity-health/asian-american/article-admission.aspx

I actually underestimated...its 450 POINTS.

First of all, unlike in the US, you can't discriminate people because of there race, religion, or sex in France, wether it be a positive or negative discrimination (as a general rule).

What we have in France is positive discrimination based on socio-economic factors (social justice principles). We live in a social system where if you come from an educated and wealthy family, you will have a much easier time getting a good education, and therefore have a good income. And vice-versa.

On the same principle, this is why we have a progressive tax system, as opposed to a proportional tax system. We just live in a society where if you already have wealth, it is much easier for you to get more wealth. Not even close to being a meritocracy. The system is "rigged" towards the wealthy, therefore measures have to be taken to redistribute the unfair distribution of wealth, and rigg the system back to a system more fair.

It is the same thing for education:

This is delusional to think that just because you don't discriminate on who gets to enter in a college or university (quotas), then everyone gets equal chances. Its much more complicated than that. Again if you are from a wealthy family with educated parents, all intellectual capabilities being equal, you don't have the same chance to end up in a good university compared to someone coming from an uneducated and poor family. I am not saying that quotas are a good solution to achieve "equal chance" (its not imo), but some kind of positive discrimination is needed to break the vicious/virtuous circles and balance things out. And these vicious/virtuous circles are even more outlined when education isn't tuition free, like in the US.

@Jai: Thanks for the source

Hitchslap this begs the question: How do poor Asian-Americans in NYC manage to not only succeed in New York's poor inner city pubic schools, but do so well on meritocratic standardized tests that they make up near 70% of New York's top public high school (Stuyvesant)? Why can't poor African Americans and Latinos achieve success at the levels seen by poor Asian Americans? This is the fundamental question that has to be addressed. The real way to lift Americans out of poverty is to adopt the educational philosophy that have made Asians (and poor Jews before them) into one of the most successful minority groups in American history!! They have the highest median income, the lowest crime rates, and really their only flaw right now is their low voter participation. Quotas won't solve anything...because it does not incentivize Blacks or Hispanics to do better. Racial discrimination is never right. And right now US universities annually discriminate whole racial classes because they preform better than their peers at the same economic level.

Conservative, to be honest it seems you are looking for confrontation every time, ok then:

Let's talk about the mass surveillance programs by the US intelligence agencies which set off an ongoing international storm of controversy over security and the ethics around the idea of your federal government acting and as you well stated earlier "controlling every aspects of a citizen's life".
This is your own statement I quoted ahah that's quite ironical actually, you are talking about this whereas you are from the very country where "Big Brother is watching you"...

Snowden the renegade and traitor of the nation for having revealed the truth knows best, some revelations here:
- The NSA, on a request from the FBI, indiscriminately collected the telephone records of millions of US Verizon customer.
- Constitutional right to privacy? You don't have one anymore.
- It was also revealed that material collected through Prism is routinely shared with the FBI and CIA, with one NSA document describing the program as a "team sport."
- the NSA is accessing the content of emails. The agency had obtained direct access to the systems of Google, Facebook, Apple and other US internet giants through a program called Prism, which grabbed both metadata and the content of search history, file transfers, live chats and emails.

And you were furthermore spying on supposed allied nations all the time (remember the scandals over CIA spying on Germany and France uh?), you have no shame to talk about Europe, you really should clean up your own backyard.

Also, do not mix everything, the fact that we do not hold a firearm (like in Austria) does not mean we aren't free, again this is part of your whole pro Gun, pro NRA propaganda, but this wont work here with me. Stop trying converting people to your pro gun outdated thesis please, this is getting boring.

In my honest opinion, I would rather live in Austria, where bearing a gun is strictly controlled, instead of living in a country where each of your act is spied, repertoried, analyzed, and controlled everytime, everyday, everywhere. Even North Korea did not achieved this.

And last but not least, I will repeat it: There is not ONE SYSTEM in Europe but multiple of systems, Europe is diversity, so so stop mixing everything Gosh.
