In fact, there have been NO major nationwide polls within the last month that showed Kasich ahead of Paul. The most recent national poll that showed Kasich ahead of Paul was 1 of 2 conducted on 12/10. It had Kasich 1 percentage point ahead of Paul, with a margin of error of 5%. 4 of the 6 polls conducted since 12/16 (within a month of the debate) show Paul ahead of Kasich by 1-2 points. Why, then, is Kasich on the main stage but Paul isn't? It's because he managed to get 11% of the New Hampshire polls. Based on his national polling numbers, those 11% of New Hampshire Republicans might be his entire base.

I think debates like this are extremely useful and without them, voters would be at a loss. When do I compare Europe To America constantly? I happen to actually the European system in everything but it's strict state rules, and it's socialism. The culture in Scandinavia and how they teach is different and I like it. How can he quantitatively determine which debate was more about "substance and policy"? Hint...you can't. His subject opinions about the Republican party are just being projected onto his analysis of the debates. Its as simple as that.

I gave my opinion based on my analysis of the debate, wich is most definiteltly subjective by definitino. But you can objectively determine wich debate is of better quality by fact-checking all the claims for example (as long as we can agree on a reasonable definition of facts in this context). This is a good way to have an informed opinion, even if it is still a subjective opinion. In this area, i believe facts are in massively higher number in the camps of the democrats.

I believe what he's saying is that he sees Trump and Sanders as the "extreme" members of their respective parties. I don't believe this is accurate. If you're looking for an extreme Republican, Ted Cruz is probably the closest thing to it. Some (being nice here, many people would say "most") of Trump's positions are so overwhelmingly stupid that nobody in politics supports them. Therefore, I wouldn't call him an extreme Republican, Trump is just extreme in his own way. Sanders, on the other hand, does have views that are mostly more extreme versions of the Democratic Party's views. The major exception for him is gun control, where he is less extreme than most Democrats.

Of course you think the Democrats had a better debate. No surprise there. Its easy when you have the DNC chair protecting Hillary Clinton and marginalizing Martin O'Malley. Come back when you have 10-15 candidates competing for the Democratic nomination (Democrats have no one with name recognition to even run). Of course as the field gets larger the amount of "what you term shouting" is going to increase...its basic logic as every candidate will try to get their views across in the most simple and fastest way possible!! That doesn't however mean that the "shouting" was not actual debate on real policy differences. Yes Wct. European governments tend to directly or indirectly control very many aspects of A citizens life. For instance, in Austria, the government has put regulations in order to make sueing so expensive nobody does it but the rich. In America, even though the entire sueing thing is annoying and complicated it doesn't mean we shut everything down. We just suck it up and deal with it because we believe citizens have that right. From what I have read and heard, in most European countries individualism is a joke. However, I like European culture and many social values
