I was talking to Kalashnikov ( http://warlight.net/Profile.aspx?p=843437598 ) about some ideas that could make this forum better. Here is what we came up with:

-More organization
-More "sticky threads" (i.e Bad Booters)
-Forum moderators for players like Quaddafi
-An incentive to go to the forum
-A "forum" tab (instead of the forum being in the "community" tab
-The ability to post polls
-Banners around Warlight spreading awareness of the forums

Any thoughts? Please post?

I like the poll idea a lot. I think it would be popular since Warlight players seem to enjoy pouring over statistic. Being linked to your forum posts would be helpful as well. For instance, if I liked what your opinion was on something and wanted to search out what other posts you've written it would be helpful to click your name and see other comments that you have made.

My thoughts on this matter:

|>*-More organization*

Not needed if it remains this small I think.
I do like the fact that it is rather small and I don't see the need for random chat forums. Besides, let's use the server space for games, not for topics!

|>*-More "sticky threads" (i.e Bad Booters)*

That may or may not be interesting. Worth a try I guess?

|>*-Forum moderators for players like Quaddafi*

Fizzer himself should do for a relatively small forum as this one. Although I do hate the occasional trolls and most of the ridiculous posts of Qaddafi.

|>*-An incentive to go to the forum*

People are here to play the game, not to go to the forum. Although I love forums, I don't see why that should change.

|>*-A "forum" tab (instead of the forum being in the "community" tab*

Not a bad idea, but it does belong to community.

|>*-The ability to post polls*

Yes please, I completely agree with this!

|>*-Banners around Warlight spreading awareness of the forums*

I hate banners almost as much as I hate pop-ups and other random messages. I love the fact that it is on top on the Dashboard.

Further I agree with BP on the links to a user's forum posts (great idea) and a search function (as pointed out in another topic) would be great too.

I find that the dashboard is enough organization for me.. however as i mentioned in another post, I wish there was a way to search for key words..

I've asked for several topics to be stickied, but in truth, stickied topics should only be things Fizzer believes are important that anyone in the forums need see.

polls would be interesting, but might also start troll polls, lol

I don't see the forum needing it's own section outside of community, it would be starting to clutter the tabs up unnecessarily imho.

And I agree with mathwolf on banners.

I agree that adding another more tabs should be in moderation, but If the forums get their own tab then there would be no need for the overview sub-tab, the feedback sub-tab could just be a sub-tab in forum tab, change history could be moved to the home tab, and referral sub-tab could be moved to the settings tab

I apologize if all the "tab" and "sub-tab"s were confusing or annoying

ps. we should also have a "ladder" of "member" tab

There are four things I would really like to see, personally. Three have already been mentioned: polls, search, link to forum posts on user profile. The fourth has not been mentioned, but I think is very important: the ability to edit posts. Maybe it's just my tendency to make typos and poorly proofread my posts, but this always drives me crazy.
