actually Jai, I have to disagree, Cannabis is way more dangerous compared to Alcohol: it has been proven scientifically that to drink one glass of wine (good wine of course) per day could actually be good for your health: The fair quantity of red wine to drink improve your sleep , it also improves your metabolism protection against cardiovascular diseases and also provides an excellent rate of cholesterol (this is according to an international study). BUT Cannabis even a small quantity of it is bad, (it severely damage your brain, and can lead to a major stroke)

However, about alcohol I am strongly against "binge drinking" (a practice coming from Nordic and Anglosaxon countries): excessivity is dangerous, because your behavior can be harmful, and also because an excess of alcohol is also bad for your health.

So to conclude: drink alcohol (preferably wine or any good alcohol, avoid strong alcohols or adulterated ones), but drink with moderation.

Maybe we should all just stick to heroin.

Disagree, but I can tell this is going nowhere. People aren't drinking in moderation...88K deaths per year is evidence of that. But whatever who cares. Human lives don't matter much I guess.

jai show some sources before posting some figures, that could help your argumentation. And yeah alcohol and cannabis are both bad, but cannabis is bad in any case whereas alcohol with moderation is just ok and even could improve your health as stated earlier.

Human lives DON'T matter we have too many of them so less is good.

Alcohol is Completely fine in moderation and enjoyable.

However someone excessively drinking (ie getting completely fucked off there face just shows weakness , lack of control and poor decision making ect.

I think people underestimate the power and damage alcohol can do. It can completly destroy you your family lose you your wife house money Job happiness I've seen all of this happen to someone before. (they died of alcohol posoning a year after all that)

Well, fun fact: you cannot get addicted to Cannabis without killing yourself. So it may indeed be a better drug for those likely to get addicted.

It's a major reason why marijuana is being legalized in different states:

the war on drugs is largely unwinnable, especially the way that America and it's politicians and lobbyists continue to insist on fighting it.

treatment for users, especially addicts, needs to come first.

using most drugs needs to be decriminalized
so that people won't be afraid to get help because of the laws.

No the ultimate question is whether the number of marijuana users would increase, decrease, or stay constant with decriminalization and eventual legalization. I am not sure anybody can make a good case for any possible outcome.
