Yes, bombing Vietnam is counter-productive since you can't see who you are killing so you inevitably turn the people against you and seal your own fate.

It's always interesting to see the difference in people's attitudes regarding the Vietnam war compared to the Korean War. Both featured the United States launching a military invasion to prop up a Capitalist faction against a Communist faction.

The Korean War is generally looked on favorably or ignored, presumably because the U.S won. (Sorta, South Korea still exists after all.) Meanwhile Vietnam War is hated because the U.S caused a bunch of damage and casualties while accomplishing nothing.
