The two players tqt and hhxyz at the very least agreed to collude before the game in a FFA, which annoys me by itself. I reported them as possible alts of the same person because of the similar profiles and similar way they played and, obviously, the fact that they "colluded".

A couple of the turns I saw them do something that didn't really make sense to me if they were actually the same person. In Turn 2 tqt moved two armies from Istria to Dalmatia, and in Turn 14, both of them attacked Trabzon. But given the way he/they played, as well as their win rates, maybe the person just didn't know what they were doing.

Even if they were two people, it seems like a shitty, dishonest way to play, joining a Free For All with a friend and not attacking each other as opposed to making an alliance during the game.

If you reported them, then why post on the forum? I mean what kind of response do you expect?

Never mind that reporting for mere collusion is pointless since there is nothing against the rules in doing so.

@ChrisCMU So is that thread the designated thread to post anything about alts? Seems like more of a specific policy thing than a place to report them.

@Richard I didn't report for collusion. I put it in quotes because if it was the same person that isn't colluding, it's using an alt.

This is the reason I don't play FFA.

But cmon.. I'm sure that we can all get along and play the game right guys?

Ebin398, your first post almost seemed like you attempted to start a hate thread. However based on your second post I take it that you would like other eyes then your own to evaluate the possibility of ALTs in the game.

First of, if they are friends in RL, and are sitting next to each other they are not breaking any rules (bad moral for sure, but not a violation of the rules). So the public chat is interesting because only one of the chats, speaking for them both. If there was in fact two players then there should have been two people chatting. Now hhxyz and tqt clearly have truce in the game and given that PM is OFF, that is odd. It also seems that hhxyz truced tybz, and Tybz seems like a legit account. It is possible that the truce formed by neither player deploying armies, or that one of them used the WL mail to form a truce.

Both suspected accounts are from China, so this could be why only one of them used chat (the other don't speak english well) or it is because of them being the same player.

Conclusion, there is no conclusive evidence of Alt, but a STRONG indication and lots of fishy things. I recommend you BL both accounts. I do believe that this case is two friends playing (on their profile both emails look legit,) so while no WL rule was broken the unwritten ones were. In this case WL probably would require the accounts to verify the emails used, but take no further action. You did right in reporting them.

(WL also can check if the IP's match, however such information is not public knowledge, and do NOT necessarily provide any more conclusive evidence then the current ones.)

IPs match? That doesn't mean anything. I've played countless games with friends sitting in the same room.
