That does not have too much Reality Suspending or Gore.

You have pockets in which you can hold a little.

I was driving in my Zaporozhets, coming home. The forest was a friendly green, with some happy sedges. The Sun was still up; it had been inching down, but still could not make it to the horizon.

A couple men came from the woods, looking like hunters, holding rifles. They were young and pretty and waiving for me to stop, and I'm deciding whether to.

A: Stop by them
B: Drive by them
C: Drive backwards.

Deciding they looked fine enough, you stop by. The one who waived first had a hawkish face, and he asked, grinning, "Can you give us a ride to Ovbeshlov?"

The other hunter has a dark brown beard, without moustache. He is looking at me for my response, smiling. These are positive folk.

A: "Yeah, hop in."
B: "No, that's too far, are you kidding?"
C: [Drive away]

"Yeah, hop in.", I said, trying to replicate their cheeriness. "One in the front, one in the back."

"What a great bloke; truly a kind man." Hawk-face says, as he happily put his gun down and sat down next to me.

A: Be prepared to pull out the Makarov in the compartment.
B: Standby while Beard-face gets in.
C: Grab Hawk-face's rifle.

Beard-Face notices your hand close to the compartment. He asks if you are getting some sweets for the ride, but you say no, and pull your hand away. A new mood sets in.

Beard-Face pauses, then asks for you to move your junk, which is a sleeping bag and a rolled up tent.

A: Move the junk.
B: Say "It's ok, you can move it, I won't mind".
C: Say "I actually am sorry, but I'm kind of busy; I didn't realise. I can't drive you to Ovbeshlov; sorry."

"All right, if you say so.", he replies, and is moderately gentle with your stuff, though his handling could be improved.

In the meantime, I examined Hawk-Face's rifle. It was nothing special; just a generic, accurate rifle that was bolt-action. I could not identify the mark.

A: Resume being on standby for the Makarov.
B: Wait.
C: Grab Hawk-Face's rifle.

Beard-Face sits down and shuts the door insufficiently, keeping his rifle on the seat next to him.

"Shut the door tighter, mate." I say, adding the "mate" to hopefully lighten the mood between us two. The mood between me and Hawk-Face is still cordial, though.

They don't notice you being on standby for the Makarov.

A: Go on being on standby for the Makarov.
B: Wait.
C: Grab Hawk-Face's rifle.

Beard-Face shuts the door sufficiently, and so you start driving to Ovbeshlov. The mood is revived a little, as Hawk-Face praised how much better it was to be riding than to be walking; Beard-Face joined in, too. Beard-Face was opening and slamming the door for emphasis on agreement - you suspect he's just being a roudy arse, though. "Stop that, you're going to damage the door or yourself, guy", with a bit of a chuckle added in. So he stops and you then ask the duo "So, how far to Ovbeshlov? Ten kilometres or so?"

They notice your hand at the compartment again, and they both look at each other.

A: Go on being on standby for the Makarov.
B: Wait.
C: Grab Hawk-Face's rifle.

You quickly and roughly grab Hawk-Face's rifle, while Beard-Face quickly gets his rifle and points at you. "Just what do you think you're doing, eh?". He shoots you in the head, and you die.

(Ox, this was a horrible choice - why?)

THE END.

Story 2.

I live in a little, quaint village; not too far from Madrid. I've got a nice enough home, got a spear, even an arcabuz. The food I have isn't that great. I eat cow stew, salad, and occasionally peas and pigeon. And this takes up three fourths of my income, while you keep the other fourth on you.

I like to read loads, about the times before the Rebirth. I read books with such complicated language that Aristoteles himself would go mad. My favourite book is not finished - the author died before he could. I sometimes want to finish his book for him, but never do.

A: Talk to the priest about legendary knights.
B: Talk to the barber about legendary knights.
C: Try to finish your favourite book.

I go to the village church, where the priest is also an enthusiast in medeval tales. When I arrive there, Nicolás, the barber is already there. All of us have three different candidates for who was the best and most chivalrous knight. This argument led to nothing, and you went back and read some more, about quarrels, wooings, wounds and challenges.

I think I read too many books, my wits aren't very sharp. But I think it will be a great idea if I become a knight in honour of my homeland and country. I would roam the world in full armour, and on horseback, righting wrongs despite peril and danger. I already see myself given a pat on the back by Felipe III; oh yes, this would be great. It's time to right the wrongs.

A: Start preparing armour and weapons and get ready to leave.
B: Talk to the priest about your adventure.
C: Talk to the barber about your adventure.
