Also, I am assuming you (the character) are American?
Reasons: You are far more likely to be assaulting an island in the Pacific Arena.
Pastures are for cattle. Cattle are only produced in large quantities in two of the countries in the Pacific Arena, Australia and USA.
The weapon choices in the first choice tend to sound more American in origin. For one thing, the Aussie farmer would have given his kid an actual .22 instead...
And also: Due to the fact you are attacking something instead of running away, this is probably post 1942...

You decide to not launch your torpedo. You think that it is better saved for a target that threatens your fellow wingmen.

You watch with as the many torpedoes fall, and your friendly planes swurve with the curve of the harbor to avoid crashing into any ships. With awe, you see several destroyers, cruisers and even a battleship start to go up in flames. One of the destroyers has already begun to sink.

You're caught up in the moment, when suddenly a Destroyer with its crew visibly on-deck appears to be firing at your other wingmen. One of your friendly planes goes up in flames! You decide this is the key moment to save your brothers.

A. Launch your torpedo at the Destroyer and make sure your wing survives.
B. Evade the destroyer, the actions of a hero do not win battles, maintaining your proper course wins the battle.

TORA! TORA! TORA!

The 3 options are tokens that offer different stories to follow. Based on your choice, you follow a different soldier for a different nation, and a different type of soldier for each story for that matter.

You watch with satisfaction as your torpedo gracefully falls from your fighter and slips into the sea, only to hit the destroyer in front of you with intense force. The destroyer goes up in flames as the crew struggles to put out the fires and jump off deck.

You try to bank left to avoid the destroyer and its ruin, but you realize that your planes' wing control are jammed. You are about to crash into the destroyer! You instinctively pull your joystick back and brace while your plane ascends rapidly into the sky. You feel your plane shake and rattle all around, and taking a look at your left wing you see no damage, but when you look at your right you see it is covered with holes.

Damn! you think. One of the crew members of that destroyer managed to get a burst of AA off at your plane. You figure that this is the end, your plane will slowly succumb to the damage and become un-maneuverable.

You lose sight of the rest of your fighter wing. You can see a clearing roughly 2 kilometers away. You also notice a cluster of AA pieces a kilometer away at approximately 1 o'clock. Your plane is being consumed in fire! You have to make a choice and stick to it.

A. Attempt to establish radio contact with your Wing Commander.
B. Try your best to land at the clearing.
C. Make a strafe at the AA guns.

You decide that all duty you could possibly do for your country has been done. Your plane is too badly damaged to offer up anything else. You believe the only option left is to try and survive, which means landing at the clearing.

A few hundred meters into the flight, you notice your engine has given up. Your speed gauge takes notice of this, with your estimated speed slowing to 300 KM/H. AA fire and Flak monsoons around you. You sit in silence for a short moment as you observe the scene around you. Pearl harbor is in flames everywhere, oil poisons the water, many bodies rot in the soil, planes seem to drop from the sky one by one.

You come back to your senses, and engage your gears for landing, as best as you can at least. Your plane teeters ever so slowly to the right, a consequence of your half-destroyed wings. Your speed drops to 100 KM/H. The clearing is right in front of you. You feel your plane ripple and shake as you touch the ground ever so slightly.

Then, your plane suddenly flips in an uproar, completing a full 360 before it crashes into the grass. You black out from the trauma.

As you come to your senses, you realize you are badly wounded. Your plane is completely wrecked, with the fuselage being the only salvageable piece. Seeing few options, you grab your medical kit, your sidearm and a magazine for it. In a moment of sentimentality, you grab hold of a picture of your father and hide it in your pants pocket.

A. Gather your bearings.
B. Observe your surroundings.
C. Get out of the plane.

Option a and B are effectively the same. Also isn't the plane on fire or something?

You take care to grab a sack and put your inventory into it.
You crawl out of your plane, what's left of it.
You hear shouts and voices southwest from you.

A. Investigate the voices.
B. Gather your bearings.
C. Observe your surroundings.

( Gathering your bearings would mean to ... gather your senses, it wouldn't mean looking at your surroundings.

To give an answer to your question, the fire is suffocated when you crash into the ground. The force of the air and the dirt covering your plane naturally puts it out. )

You observe the surrounding environment. You appear to be at the edge of the clearing you saw. It is surrounded with patches of tall grass and trees. A few hundred meters north appears to be the base of a mountain. You see smoke in the distance.
The voices from earlier seem to be growing louder.

NOTICE : You can interact with your inventory or check your inventory at any time, by request.
You can also gather your bearings at any time. You will learn what it means to do so if you do so with the next option.

A. Investigate the voices you hear.
B. Gather your bearings.
C. Hide in one of the grass patches.

You decide to gather your bearings now that you have an idea of your surroundings.
You calm down, the rush of the plane crash fading away.
You give yourself a once-over, and almost wretch.

You have several lacerations from glass in your left arm, your preferred arm.
You're bleeding from lacerations in your abdominal area and your left leg.
You make an assumption that you have bruises throughout your body.
The pain is barely tolerable, but you can manage. It's something you were trained to handle.
You are not all too hungry, but after all of this trauma you could certainly use some comfort food.
You are parched. Water rations were low this morning, and you barely got a sip.

You believe that handling these wounds should be a concern.

A. Hide in one of the grass patches.
B. Investigate the voices.

You decide safety is something you should handle next.
As you hide in the grass, you hear the voices in very close proximity. You must consider your next moves carefully.

A. Investigate the voices.
B. Entrench yourself.
C. Attempt to set a decoy trap.

(remember, you can interact with your inventory at any time)
