late 1941 and early 1942 soviets launch an offensive into German occupied lands. They met fierce resistance and nearly millions of soviet soldiers die compared to a few hundred thousand axis soldiers. Ironically the Germans are better entrenched, equipped and prepared for the offensive than the soviets. Though they still lose territory, yet manage to hold the line especially in Ukraine/southern USSR. |
