Description

The war wasn't about borders nor wealth. Its about who has the right to exist in the holy land, Israel or Palestine. The war came about after a fierce guerrilla war forced the British to give up their mandate. The new united nations voted to approve the creation of two new states in the mandate: one Jewish, one Arab. The Jewish community accepted the un plan. The Palestinian Arab leaders did not. After the British withdrawal from Israel in spring 1948, the armies of the neighboring Arab states invaded.
