Many were shocked at how far Japan was managing to push against Russia at the beginning, but when the Russian Troops from Europe have arrived on the almost finished Trans-Siberian railway to the Manchurian front, the war would reach a stalemate.But After a couple of months passed, many decisive battles were fought against the Japanese relentless offensives by Russia, managing to turn the tide in the war. Now, Japanese Troops were exhausted and disorganized, with majority of their troops falling in battles. Russians would now begin their offensives, Kicking Japan off from Mainland Asia. Emperor Meiji refused to surrender knowing that it would be the end of his reign. The Russian Baltic fleet has sailed from Europe through the Suez to Japan, and the battle of Tsushima would begin. The battle costed Russia 60% of its Fleet, and Japan 25%. Japan would withdrew first due to the beginning of mutinies on their ships. With Russia now gaining Naval superiority, invasion plans would be drawn. And on 6th of November 1905, Russian troops manage to land on Hokkaido, and after months of skirmishes, Hokkaido would be fully occupied. Now, with Workers going on Strike, and People rioting and protesting to end the war, Emperor Meiji has no other choice but to give in to Russian demands. On 14 March 1906, the Treaty of Seoul would be signed by both Nicholas II and Meiji. Korea would become solely dependent on Russia, An autonomous Duchy of Ezochi would be established and ruled by Michail Romanov, Japan has to pay war Reparations to Russia, and for the Damage done in Manchuria, Japan had to give 80% of Taiwan back to Qing Dynasty. Russian people were so happy and patriotic, revolutionary thoughts seemed to disappear almost entirely. Japan, on other hand, will face unrest,protests for reforms, and hatred of the emperor will grow. And in 1909, Meiji was ousted, and much to the worlds surprise, a Republic of Japan was proclaimed.(this level is just a map of how it all looks now, and this is what happened during and after my past level)
