It's late 1943. Allies have succesfully landed in southern Italy and are actively fighting there and helping the Italian resistance. We have created friendly puppet government in northern Italy with Mussolini in charge, however he is losing the support amongst the Italians. Americans and British with other allied forces plan to land in northwestern France, and from there liberate France and Benelux. However, if they fail, we might have a chance to initiate a counterattack and control over southern France will be returned to the Vichy government once safety will be assured. In the east, we have lost the battles of Stalingrad and Moscow and siege of Leningrad. Soviets are relentlessly pushing west, only Finland is still holding well. In the balkans, communist partisans are starting to gain more support both from the population and the Soviets. While Hungary and Bulgaria are still somewhat strong and willing to fight for our cause, Romanians are starting to doubt if we are going to win, and their strength and strategical position are important for us, so we can't lose them. Allies are thinking about landing in Greece, controlled by puppet government led by Ioannis Metaxas. We mut not let Balkans and the Eastern front fall to the Allies and the communists. General, will you lead the Axis forces to victory against all the odds? |
