Permitindo a passagem dos navios que transportavam os soldados brasileiros e o imediato desembarque de 10 mil homens do Exército Imperial Brasileiro a Fortaleza de Itapiru, comandados pelo General Osório. Chapter VII-The War of Paraguay Part XIV-The Battle of Passo da Pátria The Passo da Patria was a Paraguayan village, north of the Itapiru fortress, on the right bank of the Paraná River. The plan was the Imperial Brazilian Armada, under the command of Joaquim Marques Lisboa, Admiral Tamandaré, to bombard in joint action to the Imperial Brazilian Army, the positions occupied by the Paraguayan army at Passo, distracting the Paraguayans. Allowing the passage of ships that transported the Brazilian soldiers and the immediate disembarkation of 10000 men of the Imperial Brazilian Army the fortress of Itapiru, commanded by General Osório. |
