Thanks to the rather easy capture of Zurich and the city's gold reserves, Nazi Germany is able to sustain more war. Despite the defeat of their southern and eastern frontiers in the previous few months, Germany is still strong and does not seem to be succumbing to the allies, now comprised of France, Belgium, Austria, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Czechoslovakia, and occupied Hungary. France has almost completely mobilized for one final push into Germany, but Poland and Yugoslavia seem to be doing the same, seeing a "resurgent" Austria-Czechoslovakia alliance as a threat to their sovereignty. Yugoslavia has officially joined the Axis, so it is now apt to begin a pre-emptive attack. Fortunately, the country has little national unity, so a single major defeat should knock them out of the war. |
