A couple things:

1) Bert and Ernie are not gay. It's been said by the Sesame Street people. Several times.

2) It is a political issue.

3) The baker had every right to deny putting those words on the cake. Forcing him to put that message on the cake is like forcing Chik-Fil-A to open on Sundays. The people could've just gone to another bakery. It's like Knyte said, I'm not gonna make Nazi propaganda for anyone, why should I be forced to do so for any other thing?

4) This baker guy was kind of screwed either way, wasn't he? By putting any political statement on his cakes, a shitstorm would be coming his way, similar to what is happening now.

I think that's the most nefarious part of this whole set up. The gay couple knew full well that this bakery had a Christian owner, and that their order would force the owner to either: A) Stay true to his beliefs and refuse, which would open the floodgates for him to be sued for "discrimination" and tons of bad press. Or B) Fulfill the order and alienate himself from his fellow Christians, not to mention violate his most inner beliefs.

Similar cases have happened elsewhere. There's a small but disturbing minority in the LGBT community that loves these kind of tactics.

Bert and Ernie are two Children's cartoon characters that are really close friends, and someone from the internet said that's gay.(Note they are both puppets)

How did they know the guy was Christian?

The gay couple wanted Bert and Ernie to be on the cake, as well, Жұқтыру. Pop culture likes to portray them as a gay couple, but they are not. "They are not gay, they are not straight. They are puppets."

First, this is not an equal rights case.

The baker is not serving the customer because they are gay. He's not making a cake with a specific message on it that the baker finds offensive.

If the (gay) customers picked a cake out of his catalog and he wouldn't serve them, but would serve another the same cake, then it is equal rights.

For example, any customer comes in and asks the baker to decorate a cake that says, "Bakers are evil." he is fully inclined to reject that request.
