Maple is very simple to use. You can write functions to tile the map or create complex objects. Is it possible to use formulas in Inkscape ?

Wouldn't that be something better asked at Inkscape's site (https://inkscape.org/en/)? I am sure they have FAQs, user forums and the like who would better be able to answer your questions.
