btw, imho, i think that E.asia deserves a spot on the Built-in section as well...

So, here goes the angry rambling! :D

- Equ_a_torial Guinea, not Equ_i_torial - as both bonus and territ. name.
- Bonus link for Congo is really badly placed :( Both Congos, actually. Stick them in the middle?
- Same for Rwanda-Burundi. There's little place there, maybe overlay it partially above Sud Kivu (brown)?
- I feel that Eritrea is totally big enough to split it (but maybe its just me). Tunisia, too?
- North Tanzania bonus has no space in its name.
- Line connecting Madagascar and Tanzania should "hit" Madag. more in the middle of territory? It's unclear what it touches at the first glance.
- Bonus link for Malawi is like wtf. How did it get there? :P Zimbabwe, too.
- Nam_i_bia, not Nambia. South and North.
- There's something wrong about Windhoek and the border of Namibias - which one does it belong to? According to placement, North; color, South.
- And something wrong about the top-left border of Northern Cape (South Afr.), it looks bad.

Don't take these to yourself, I'm just really picky when it comes to maps :)


(Also, arange all bonus links placed near coast more neatly? ;) They don't "line up".)

Oh, I forgot to mention that the maps looks great, and I'm totally gonna start a game or two on it unless somebody's quicker. :D

Eastern Asia is a pretty decent map, and Asia maps are one of the few remaining possible maps that have a super broad appeal - that's one of the key things I look for when picking maps for the top section.

However, I'm not sure if I'm a big fan on the current Eastern Asia map. I don't like the super bonuses at all - Unification of China worth 42 armies and covers half of the map? By the time anyone gets that the game is over - that bonus is worthless. I don't like super bonuses in general, since they just help the really big players which makes it harder for the smaller guys to stage a revolt and come back. They also don't work well in team games.

I like how the ME one does big bonuses, *ie, decent sized, in the middle to help whoever is going to prolly be ganged up on*, but...

Fizzer, but this is the only bonus that big - all others are of decent size (compared to map, of course), maybe except Cao Wei / Sun Wu. And when you're creating those "multi-bonuses", it only makes sense to create one covering whole China, especially when there are already bonuses for whole countries.

And those bonuses - both rather small ones in Middle East ones and huge in East Asia - provide another objective to reach, making the game much more interesting.


Also, we're going off topic, but who cares.

Back on topic: I went to play against AI and noticed that Burkina Faso's bonus link is awfully misplaced as well. :(

Wish any of my maps ever get to built-in :p
BTW. Few suggestions, not mentioned by Matma Rex:
- "Nigeria" bonus should be named "North Nigeria" imo
- "North Etiopia" bonus link misses a space ("NorthEtiopia" as it's now)
- split Algeria somehow (e.g. North and South)
And yeah, few bonus links are like "wtf" how did it get there :P

I think if we have "medium earth" as an official map, E. Asia should be too. Medium earth is probably the most worthless map ever - only really a handful of territory changes.

I think this Africa map is real cool.

I like the looks of this map, although I haven't been able to start a game on it yet. Just one question. What is going on with the territory borders? They look strange on this map, almost like they overlap the territories. Do you have extra lines in your SVG that are not the actual territory boundaries? I don't think I've seen this on any other maps.
