Zooming looks bugged - the rest is very nice, a lot of useful changes for tournament ui!

EDIT: also, player list should be ordered by number of wins instead of alphabetically

Overall, it is a great update, especially on round robins. It would be nice to have the names a little large on single/double elimination tournaments so I don't have to zoom in quite so much.

It's a bit of a catch 22 since, if we made the names larger, then it would make the overall size of the tournament bracket bigger, which would mean you'd actually have to zoom in more to read them.
There are a few ways of improving this. One, that was done for single-elim tournaments, was to split the tournament in half so that it can use horizontal space more effectively.

Another option that isn't implemented is to allow hiding the early rounds, which collapses the size of the tournament greatly.

Or we could try to de-couple the size of the words with the zoom level, so they appear bigger without having to zoom in. But that would not help with the first round, since it can't be made any bigger without overlapping the names next to them.

This looks fantastic, thanks Fizzer. Is it possible to sort that table though (clicking on column header)? It would be nice to sort on the win column, for example. If not, I think it would be better to have it sorted by wins and not by team letter? Another nice idea would be to have your team at the top of the list regardless of performance.

At any rate, love the update.

I'm looking at the Players section..

If a few members of a team have been eliminated, but the game is not over, it still shows it as a loss for those eliminated.

Shouldn't it be shown as an in-progress game, since the outcome is not yet decided and a teammate may actually end up winning it? (Also this kind of messes up any sort by wins, since players on the same team have different win/loss count temporarily)

Wow, just saw the UI on a RR, looks amazing. I LOVE the red/green links between players so you know who you won/lost to. I must say this is one of the best updates I have seen for sure. Kudos.

EDIT - just noticed one thing. Is is possible to Freeze the columns at the top? So if you scroll down the player list the headings do not go away?

This would be very nice, or else having teams clearly separated from each other and your team highlighted in another color

^something like this

^That is exactly what I mean. Have it highlighted at the top at all times during the tournament (prior to completion even).

imho it doesn't necessarily have to be at the top at all times, it just needs to be clear and readable enough

I think there's enough clarity as long as teams are clearly separated and your team is highlighted

Things look fine and much better now. Thanks for the update.

But what happened to the open tournaments, the tournaments that were already open before the update? Are they gone to the trash bin? Did I miss something?

True, it could be below any ranked teams (when it goes final). Just above all non 'placed' teams.

One more thing I'd like to see is the ability to create a tournament with just a template ID. I don't see why I should have to save someone else's template as my own prior to being able to create a tournament.

Alternately, it seems that it ought to be possible to create a template in the "Create a tournament" flow in the same manner that you can create one in the "Create a game" flow.

Also, I think it would probably be better to have double-elimination tournaments laid out in the same manner as single elimination tournaments (i.e. with losers' bracket off to the right meeting the winner of the winners' bracket in the middle).

+1 - this makes it a lot easier to read lol

would it be possible to make a popup list of games played by each player in Elimination tourneys (perhaps the wins, lossed, and in progress numbers could be links that open little windows showing the games in each category)? right now you have to find each game individually and in larger tournaments it gets a tad tedious, especially if you want to view a bunch of games from one person

also, when you view a tournament game, would it be possible to add a button that takes you back to the tournament where you were viewing last?

Fizzer (and others if you know answer)-

Is there a way to access the table that the "player" tab is reading from in the new UI?

It would be really cool if we could leverage that to update a score sheet (clan league, other custom leagues) based on the Wins and Losses it is tallying. Additionally, it would be very good to know the order of wins and losses in a double elimination.

I'm not aware of an API which gives you direct access to that player table. However, you can easily get what you're looking for by making a few API calls.

1) Use Game ID feed API(passing tourney ID) to get a list of games in the tournament you are interested in.
2) for each game in gameList:
-----use Query game API to view results of an individual game

3) update score sheet

I don't know how tedious it is for you to organize the clan league every season and keep score.
I know you have a people helping you out with the score keeping which makes it a bit easier.

If you want to explore a way to automate the process, pm me and we can discuss further.

Keeping the score is no work to me thanks to Lolo, Wakanarai, Turtle, Dr Stupid doing the divisions. All my work is the up front organization which is very intensive. But if I could do the scoring automatically, it would leave them to just do their creative write-ups instead.

But, there are other custom leagues that could use this. WSOW is an example. I think a lot of custom leagues fizzle at times (and other people take them over) because they are a fair amount of work to keep up. If we could keep score automatically, it lessens the overall burden to host these things and I believe encourages people to do more of these fun leagues in general.

I'll try and do your method, thanks.

Keeping score isn't hard.... but it becomes tedious having to check each tournament and forgetting if you counted a certain win or not..... etc.

Anything to help score keeping would be amazing.
