Yes, I know there is an old thread on this - but list your 3 favorite local deploy maps :) Looking for niche and fresh inspiration.

I am not super fan of Local Deployment maps, but one map is my #1.

That's the Duel map and the Duel Lotto template.

I know, that it is not formally LD, but in practical sense it is effectively played in LD mode. Also usually the less territories there are, the more tolerable the LD mode is, so 2 territories is the peak optimum amount of territories for a LD map.

I just listened to Samurai Jack's podcast episode with kjlrenren, who hosts a wide range of local deployment games on larger maps.

They seem to work well!

But I think traditional wisdom is that LD maps need to be small - particularly for real-time games! - and without any complicated superbonuses.

Biomes of Americas is the best map for LD.

If you mean a map that has INSS built into it, no.

If you mean using the INSS Bonuses mod, yes. From the mod description:

Adds a really simple, INSS bonus system to any map.
Players will get income based on the amount of territories they own of a bonus and the bonus value. The more territories you have in a bonus, the more income you get

Imagine a bonus which contains out of 5 territories and with the value 3, then you'll get the following income
1 territory = -1
2 territories = 0
3 territories = 1
4 territories = 2
5 territories = 3

This mod does work correctly with LD enabled.

So for LD Biomes that would mean:
- Manually removing all the INSS bonuses from the map (by setting them to 0)
- Using the INSS mod to bring the INSS bonuses back

Interesting. I never considered that possibility.
