Recipe #1 - Summer Salad Pie

Cheese Pie Shell

1 c. flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 c. + 1 tbsp shortening
1/2 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1-2 tbsp ice water

Heat oven to 475 F. Mix flour and salt in medium bowl. Cut in shortening thoroughly. Stir in cheese. Sprinkle water gradually over mixture, 1 tbsp at a time, tossing lightly with a fork after each addition (if dough appears dry, a few drops water may be added). Gather dough into a ball. On a lightly floured surface, roll out to 1″ larger than a 9″ pie pan. Ease into pan; flute edges of dough and prick with fork all over. Bake 8-10 minutes; cool.

Gelatin Salad

1 pkg. (3 oz) lemon gelatin
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
1 tbsp vinegar
1/2 tsp salt
Few drops each
Worcestershire sauce
and Tabasco
Dash pepper
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. chopped pimiento-stuffed olives
1/4 c. chopped onion

Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Stir in tomato sauce, vinegar, and seasonings. Chill until slightly thickened. Fold in celery, olives, and onion. Pour into cooler Cheese Pie Shell. Chill thoroughly.

Tuna Salad

1 can (5 – 6.5 oz) tuna, drained
1 tsp lemon juice
3 tsp minced onion or scallions
1 c. diced celery
Salt
Paprika
Mayonnaise

Lightly mix tuna, lemon juice, onion, and celery. Season with salt and paprika to taste. Chill. Just before serving, drain and mix in just enough mayonnaise to thoroughly coat salad. Spoon on top of chilled gelatin salad. Serve.

Recipe #2 “Cheese on cheese”

This was my signature recipe and coup de grace as the head chef and master of the culinary arts. When I was 3, I use to prepare this for my parents. What you need:

1 slice of American Cheese
Parmesan crumbles.

Directions:
Place the slice of cheese on a microwave unsafe plate, and sprinkle some Parmesan on top. Microwave for about 30 seconds. Once you hear the ding, you’re done!

c. meaning cup?

Also do these recipes work irl? I’m not convinced microwaving a microwave unsafe plate is a good idea.

It's better (and cleaner) to use parchment paper in the microwave with cheese.

Recipe #4 - little eggman

1 egg
1 caper
1 sun-dried tomato
1 olive
1 anchovy
1 toothpick

Hard boil the egg (9 minutes in boiling water). Peel the egg, cut the bottom so it's stable and keep it for later, put the toothpick in the top of the egg and put through it the anchovy to make a tie, the sundried tomato as a collar, the olive as the head, the bottom of the egg as a hat and the caper to top it off! You can put some mayo with it or invent the diorama of your choice.

Serious recipe- Bacon Wrapped Pork

1 box of toothpicks
1 large pork tenderloin
1 lb of bacon
Bottle of your favorite bbq sauce
Seasoned by preference, I just use salt.

Directions: Wrap the whole tenderloin in the bacon, using tooth picks to hold in place. Once the wrap is finished, take a brush or spoon and apply a GENEROUS amount of bbq sauce. Pop in the oven on a non stick cookie sheet, or on top of aluminum foil. Cool for 25-35 minutes, reaching an internal temperature of 165. Since bacon can vary in thickness, it is best to check multiple spots to ensure safety.

SECRET STEP: Once you are done cooking, throw BACK in the oven at HIGH BROIL for about 3-5 minutes. This will crisp the bacon and take your entree to the next level!

Once it’s ready to serve, cut in between the toothpicks to make portions, and remove the toothpicks once plated. Don’t forget the sides (mashed potatoes and green beans go perfect) and please enjoy :)

Stay tuned for my recipe for the BEST southern mashed potatoes and green beans ever. :)))

Recipe # 6 - Melting Moments

Ingredients

250g butter
4 tbs icing sugar
4 tbs custard powder
1 1/2 cups plain flour

Filling

1 1/2 cups icing sugar
2 1/2 tbs butter
2 tsp vanilla extract

* Cream butter and icing sugar until pale and fluffy.
* In a separate bowl, sift custard powder and flour together.
* Continue beating butter mixture whilst adding the flour mixture, a couple of tablespoons at a time, until all combined.
* Roll into 24 balls, working quickly so the mixture remains cool.
* Refrigerate the uncooked biscuits for 3-5 minutes, so they hold their shape when cooked.
* With a fork, press down to flatten tops of the biscuits slightly and bake at 150C for 15-20 minutes.

*To make filling: Beat icing sugar, butter and vanilla together until light and fluffy.
* Divide the mixture across 12 of the biscuits and then join together with the remaining 12.

Use quality butter, not from a vending machine.
