In the development of my historic USA maps I want to use the relevant flags for country super bonuses. As you can see here: https://www.warlight.net/SinglePlayer?PreviewMap=39229

However I have no idea how you can do this, everything I have tried has failed and there is nothing on it in the wiki.

Is it possible and if so how?

It certainly looks possible as you can see from the bottom left corner, but the map maker hasn't been seen in 49 days.

Image is very possible, I know that and have done that, but turning into a bonus is what I am on about.

As far as I know, the best you can do is something like this:

https://www.warlight.net/Play?PreviewMap=38585

The red stripes are a combined object set to BonusLink_Spain. The yellow underneath is just a plain object, set to the other color on their flag, and with a 1 pixel yellow border. You could add the emblem of the flag there as well.

There are two problems. First, the entire area between doesn't all register, so there are gaps when you mouseover. The second problem is, it might not work with all flags, at least not without some creativity. The object you use as the actual bonus object needs to be the size of the entire flag.

Ooh, this is better.

1 - Make an object the size of your flag, fill color #ffff00ff, no stroke.
2 - Duplicate it.
3 - Shrink the duplicate by 0.1 pixels in both width and height.
4 - Center the duplicate on the original.
5 - Select both, and do Path -> Difference.

Now you have a(basically) invisible empty frame for your flag. Just center it over the image you want to show, and voila:

That is genius. Myself and many more out there who will look at this in the future will be very grateful.
