^^ Can somebody make this?

Basic Idea:

1. Select a bunch of good/fun 1v1 templates (Strat 1v1, Modified ME, 2-3 of Chaos' fictional islands, Heavy Earth, Earth**, Imperium Romanum, Greece, Turkey, Europe** with cards, Qina**, etc.) ** = change the bonus values

2. Play a template for 2-4 weeks and then move on to the next template.

3. Add an ELO or other rating system.

Basically, it would be somewhat like the Seasonal ladder, except the templates change quicker, games are unlimited (play as much as you want, like ps' greece ladder), and the templates are better (more maps, less ME).

Would be a great idea - one I'd like to see happen. It's a shame I'm such a beginner coder :(

I am working on that but multi day now. Rotating the template as very easy. I'm trying to get everything else tweaked the way I want. The big thing is figuring out the ELO (W-L system is not very good). Once I have our multi-day one working I can set up one with RT templates instead (easy change).

Another thing I would love to figure out is how to have the chart of players (ranks and rating/W-L) separate for each template (in addition to the overall one). That might take some doing to get there unless Fizzer can give me some tips.

So basically you have the overall leaders and a leader board for each template you have used so far (a second page might be best for clarity sake).

why don't do it realtime? or is possible to mixed multiday with realtime?
-same CLOT, same ranking, 2 button: play a game realtime, play a game multiday. is this possible?

I don't play RT, so my interest is having multi-day one.

The difference is simply the template. All I would have to do is copy the CLOT, change the templates to RT (or if they already exist just replace with template ID's) and it would all run the same. The only difference is the games it creates from those other templates are RT games. Otherwise the functionality would be all the same.

And no, I don't think you can mix in the way you are thinking. The same CLOT could have a mix of RT and Multi-Day games, but you'd have to change the active template from RT to Multi or vice versa. The way the CLOT works, it simply checks every so often (default is set to 6 hours) for anyone not in games. Then it makes games matching those people up. It will use whatever the active template is (could be RT or mult, but not both at same time).

I'm not really sure a RT one would work unless you don't have a direct boot option. Otherwise they could force join you and get boot win. Plus how does that even work if both players are not online? It doesn't check to see who is online when looking for games. The only way I see it working is you'd have to leave the CLOT when you are not online, then it would not create a game for you. You'd also have to have the search amount much less than 6 hours, which I'm not sure Fizzer would want.

Let's say you use a search time of 30 minutes (if that was allowed). It will look for potential matches of players every 30 minutes. Those not already in a game get matched up. You would have to join the CLOT when you are "online" and ready to play RT, and leave the CLOT when you are not online anymore. The CLOT would keep track of W-L/rating for all players, regardless of whether they are active or not (online).

In that case, you can have auto/direct boot because it would only match you up if you are online. The issue you have is what happens if you forget to leave it? It would keep making matches and you keep losing. Ideally, you'd want a boot to remove you from the CLOT automatically.

That is why I want to do multi-day first. because the RT one would take some extra work to get it working properly. I'm not sure if the auto remove from CLOT (after a boot) is possible or not. I know in the PS one, if you declined a matchup you were out of his. Not sure if that was an auto function though or something he did manually.

ps, if you see this can you comment on that?

I'm pretty sure you can't 'force join' in clot, as it's typical 'normal game' for warlight(not the tournament one). Also you should be aware that there is possibility of VTE in such games.

chris: sorry for late reply, i had an automatic check on all recently finishing games that if the player was booted he got thrown out of the ladder before calculating new matches.

kzszyhoo has a point, you can only invite players to the game, you can't force them to join. although you can determine if the player refused the game, or joined and both did VTE, and in that case "punish" them accordingly.
