Working on my Middle East map, I was trying to figure out how to best show which territories were capital bonuses, but I also wanted to keep them as part of the regional/district bonus they belong to. I don't like the idea of giving a capital strategic worth if you don't control the region it belongs to. In other words, I didn't want this(teal territory):

I don't have the bonus boxes for capitals located in/next to the territories they belong to for a couple reasons. First, it was too cluttered in some places, especially Egypt. Second, I wanted people to be able to see where all the similar bonuses were more easily, so they are listed in the top-right corner of the map.

I thought of using a star, but being forced to use rounded joints ruins it a little bit for me:

Seems to be better with a separate fill color though:

Maybe a double-width border:

I'm thinking two-toned star, anybody else have any thoughts?

SMG2 was one of the best game of all time, or so I thought when I was little.

Also, about your idea of not controlling the territory, in real war cities can hold food and are easier to defend, so they do have some value.

Yeah, I know they have some value, but the real issue is, if you have a city under siege, you might be able to defend it, but gaining resources from the town isn't the value it provides.

It would be pretty cool in a local deployment to have territories that have higher defensive kill rates and lower offensive kill rates, rather than just giving you more units per turn.

P.S. if you were little when SMG2 came out, you're still pretty little today :P

I've only played the first one, I've played a pathetically small number of new games in the last decade for being a hardcore gamer at heart :(

Im 14 now, so I was 10 when I got SMG2.

I actually thought it had the best graphics in the WHOLE WORLD when I got it, which shows how stupid I was back then.

EVERYONE LAUGHS AT ME

Well, yeah.
