I know these games are allowed but honestly no skill involved just easy way for some players to get points and wins under there hat and it always seems to be the same players taking part

It's farming for points, plain and simple. Had those maps been created after this update I think they'd probably have been declined, since it seems all they're good for is farming.

There should be negative achievements for losing to prevent this, I think.

People should not be allowed to play for points on duel maps.It's just digusting hhow low some people will go for something like levels.

Totally agree with Ironheart! Maps with a certnai number of territories "let's say under 20 or 30 should not give points.

I don't understand it. How could you farm for points on any map. Fizzer said that winning a lot of times against a single player (an alt probably) greatly reduces the number of points you get. And if you don't play against an alt ,it is still a coinflip who wins. Why would the duel map be any more suitable for that than other maps?

Moros: because duel maps are over quick and a coin flip still means you win 50% of the time, with minimal effort. You can also change opponents every time, so it's ideal for farming.

That said, I find it sad that some players do this. Something about enjoying the journey over the destination I guess.

Levels are and will always be completely meaningless - and they're on a whole other level of meaninglessness than win%; everyone with half a brain can figure that out. So what's the big deal? Why do you have a problem with what other people do with the time they spend on WL? Relax. It's just a silly metagame. Everyone's free not to take part in it - especially people with grandfathered accounts like you and me and franco and red.

If for some sorry reason you do care about levels, you should definitely play those games. Quadruels can even be fun - clean, fast, stupid fun. However, if you don't care about levels, then please tell me: why does it you bother at all?

It's super silly. But some people want to level up by playing as they regularly would, or competitively via real games. You can't say a duel is a real game when nothing you do affects the outcome. They feel cheated that people can get so many points without any effort or fair-play.

Well, they shouldn't. That was my whole point. Either you care about levels or you don't.
If you do (again, why?), you're gonna have to grind. If you don't, you don't!

Ok gnullberg perhaps disgusting was a strong word to use but i was referring to how the effort people will go to cheat the level up being disgusting.

Perhaps silly is a much better word to use to describe them.Yes, i know duel games are meaningless and are a silly meta game and yes they don't affect me that much and yes i am calmed.Perhaps i came off a bit too strong anti-dueling but the whole dueling thing is defeating the whole point of Wl 2.0 which was to encourage players to play more maps.

However duel games are also an easy way to get to level 4 which is required to post in the forums and that will just defeat the whole point of the restrictions and trolls will still get through anyways.

As you can see by my 39 something real time, i mostly play multi day and multi days are less likely to give you more levels and that should show i don't care that much about levels.If i did care much more about levels my real time would have spiked up, i am in fact just passively gaining levels.

On a side note though levels are important for non members as it unlocks privileges like tournaments on your own maps or 10 player games and well non members getting easy levels with duel games get the privileges much easily with less effort that's why i might be more likely to use disgusting and you being a member will use silly.
