Season 1 Template: GUIROMA
Group A: http://warlight.net/MultiPlayer?TournamentID=5357
Group B: http://warlight.net/MultiPlayer?TournamentID=5358
Group C: http://warlight.net/MultiPlayer?TournamentID=5359
Group D: http://warlight.net/MultiPlayer?TournamentID=5360
these groups are based on skill level, best being in group A, worst being in group D, normally the top 2 will be promoted, the bottom 2 relegated, with the winner of group A deciding the template for the next season, there will be some cases of superpromotions, when a player easily goes undefeated in their group, or because of people withdrawing from the league

I'll probably drop out next season, since I only joined because Guiroma. So you can give a couple of extra promotions and slot noobschool into group D.

why 16% instead of 0%? so small chance to fail attack, like 20v12...fuuu
i lost a game only for this...
my question is, you make a mistake or you like play with luck factor? :D

Well, i can't argue, that winning 20v12 defence with 6% chance is very lucky.
Also, i won't argue, that it possible that you have lost this game purely by luck.

But "cumulative luck" chart looks like this:

Therefore, unless you can do analyze deep enought so it will show, that all those turns when you were gaining advantage because of better luck was overcome by one single hit of bad luck, I consider it rude, arrogant and as sign of disrespect toward your opponent to state publicly and so ostentatiously, that there was no reason to your defeat other than bad luck.

And on the other hand - it's nice to have at least one win, it may be crucial to my brave fight against relegation:D

Those charts are misleading. I have said this before, but that chart needs to be cumulative armies lost to luck. You could have a luck of -0.4 on a turn, and it doesn't change the outcome of the attack on either side. So if you had that on 20 turns, it looks like your luck is -8, when in fact it actually didn't effect the game at all.

Sorry for late answer, i was busy.
Chris already explain luck graph. But this 16% is a bad choice, bc there is still a small luck factor. if you look match, i'm sure that if could take that 20v12 i could have a chance to win. bc i had +3 income and he have to defend spain too.
20v12 is 95%.
luck graph explanation: 3v2 Always work, with +0.6 (o.2 attack, -0.4 defense).
so if you make a lot of 3v2, seems you get a lot of lucky :D instead isn't true.
4v2 is -0.4 (0 attack, -0.4 defense). He make a lot of 4v2, for this seems he get unlucky.
1v1 is +0.4, and i make a lot too. kszyhoo didn't do.
On straight round, look graph isn't important.
Also i don't understand why say that you have been unfortunate it is rude...
20v12 ended the game for sure. witohut it, we was 22v22 income.
Also, i get a bit angry, when you say "shit happen". NO, shouldn't happen, but seems we have noob host :D, that after 1 years on WL, didn't understand why 0% is better then 16% for a close competition. A pity that Sze isn't here, he could write this point much better, had a thought very similar to mine.
One more time. Explain me why increase luck factor is better. (seehwaks isn't a good answer that they give you this template :P you can make your own choice ;)

I agree with both of you - graph can be misleading and epsecilly with straight round.
I also agree(as i did it earlier) 20v12 was very unlucky and it decided the game.
But..
my point is that, when you wrote 'i've lost only by luck' you just couldn't know it. There are many other 'luck' factors which can influence game(move order, pick order, other attacks, especially that 1 or 2 more armies at the begininng has bigger impact than 2 armies in 15th turn), so how can you be ceratain that you lost only because bad luck in this one fight? Can you exclude the possibility of resoliving the game without 20v12 fight (with higher luck for me and lower for you in early stage or in different move orders)? Maybe you can do it now, but surely you didn't do it then.
And that's why i consider your words as rude and disrepectful. There is big difference between saying " I've lost 20v12 - i'm unfortunate" and "You won only because luck" - i can agree with the first (and i did it saying 'shit happens'), but the second bascially sounds like "I'm almighty GNU who beat everyone and everything, and you, weak noob just shut up and thank your gods for allowing you this extremly lucky win against me"

Also, i get a bit angry, when you say "shit happen". NO, shouldn't happen,

Well, it wasn't meant to angry you, i was just admitting you are right it was unlucky attack. We both knew settings and both could expect it will eventually happen. It shouldn't happen but it happens, what can i do about it?:P

Explain me why increase luck factor is better.

I don't remember i've said higher luck is better, but i'm also not sure this question is for me:P Anyway it wouldn't be simple answer and i feel i've already wrote too much cripple english so i won't answer;p

Well, i realize that was 16% only when i failed. Usually i don't check setting if title already say that is a knowed template.

nope, i was really disapointed bc setting, for this i say this, but wasn't my thought say this. I'm not usual to say "i'm the best ot thing like this, is enough for me bragging on teamchat on teamgames :D

I always prefer %0. The only argument I ever see for %16 over %0 is that you have less math to figure out. That is a BS reason. Basically people are too lazy to figure out ever move, so they want luck thrown in there in case the other person puts more effort into their moves.

You can't get rid of randomness completly - you can set 0% luck, cycle move order, but there will still be random elements (1st pick, 1st move when using OP, guessing opponents move). With 16% everyone know that in single game luck matter, with 0% there would be illusion that it don't. Also - it allows weaker players to beat someone top ranked players, giving them joy and fun and keeping them in game. So, as in long run luck doesn't matter, i think keeping it at 16% in ladder games is good, but i can also agree, that in tournaments with small number of games(like this) it should be set at 0% (also cyclic move instead of random should be used) to minimize luck impact, cause one shit can kill your chance to win it.
