I was doing ok in the ladder recently, achieving my highest rating yet, breaking the 1500 barrier, looking on track to break into the top 50. I was content.

However, in the last couple of days, I have lost a LOT of games, and looking an losing another couple. In an attempt to slow an apparent slump, I reduced my ladder games from 5 to 1. I need to get back on form. I need to improve. I need guidance.

I would be very grateful if a player (who is better than me, preferably a top player) could look at a couple of my games and tell me what I'm doing wrong. There must be something I'm missing often at the moment; five losses in a row proves this imo.

I am desperate to improve but need somebody to help me with this. I would also like somebody to tutor me; to play numerous games with me and teach me what I'm doing wrong and tell me how to play better. I will listen, I will be an engaging pupil.

aight i'll look at the picks of your first loss against [16]Jaspar, i dont have enough patience to look at all the turns analyze your actual moves, so i'll just look at your picks.

your 1,2 were risky but they worked out. Your 1 should have been SA instead of CA, since SA connects to Africa as well, when going a combo for 1,2, your 1 should always be the area which covers more positon than your 2, its not just random!

Anyway, the main problem was your 5 and 6. If you're putting 3,4 as a bonus, your 5 should always be near your 3 and 4. In this case, you missed your russia 3 and 4, and got your 5(indo), so your opponent had the entire russia to himself. A good 5 here would be India, and remember, you only get 6 if you dont get 5, so your 5 should have been a counter to india (iran maybe).

In you game against Negpue:

Your attack in turn two on CA was reckless and costed you this game. You could've expect him to deploy at least enough to stop 5 armies. Furthermore, when you were being chased in SA and had to stay alive to be able to win the game, you didn't use any order priority or delay card. I know that I didn't use them often a while ago, but I started playing with them and accually using them and I've become much better. I think that you should have used a card there in those turns.

Game against DarthYoda:

I don't like your picks at all (I also do not like his picks at all) Why 1 in SA? It has no good expandsion and you can't take any bonus quick. Antartica should've been your 1st pick imo. I would have done 2 and 3 in Russia to take West Russia in two turns. your number 2 as 4 and Scandi as 5. SA as 6.

Turn 4 again an, in my opinion, dumb move by attacking Antarctica, lost you quite some armies. Turn 11, why attack Novo that much? You should have attacked with 4, max 5 armies. You knew there was wasteland in South-Africa and you can know that on this level, not a lot of players would defend Novo.

Turn 12, Staying alive in West China was important, you should've used an order priority.
Turn 13, staying alive is even more important now, but again you don't use an order priority to be sure you get away.

Turn 14, good job on this turn, to bad for you that you didn't take Scott. The game is decided because of that. (Because you will now either lose in Antarctica or Caucasus)


I don't feel like doing another game now. Maybe I'll later. I'm not a top player, although I should be able to reach top 50 (I hope I could make it into 35) but this is my review, I hope it helped and if any other player doesn't agree with me, also tell it so I can improve in a way :D

No offence MIN but 35th is a bit to high, seeing as I'm 45th and our 1v1 strategic record is 2-0 to me :)

Sarutobi is 26 and I'm 4-2 against him :p Also 1-1 agianst Dreuj and some other good players :p But I have no idea how I would do it. I can play pretty bad some days. And I just can't win against some players (like [REGL]Gaja, I somehow can't beat him, it is like 1-8 for him :p)

against this guy you had no concept of him moving into east russia to get the triple border with central russia, and didn get the double border with southeast asia by moving into nepal or whatever its called, and you could have done better in central russia by hitting with 4 and 3, instead of 2 and 2 and 3, more leftovers

That is true, but record do mean something after a while, say if your winning 4-0 or more. That would mean your better surely. 1-0 , 2-0 of course can't be taken seriously as seeing who's better than who.

I was just saying if he can't beat me comfortable, he won't rank as high as he wants. Anyway I'm not holding anyone back let's just see....

Back when I was very new to the game, as in over a year and a half ago, I was 2-0 agaisnt lobstrosity and he was the #1 player in the game at that time. So I really could care less about how you do against certain people unless you have at least 4-5 games with that person, preferrably even more.

I think Min is probably a top 50 player, possibly top 35, he's gotten a lot better than he used to be in what I've seen from a few of his games.
