Wouldn't farmers jump on this as a chance to make themselves look like less of a noob. We've seen before that they have no problem doing it for the win-rate. A level system could be a stimulant for increased farming. I also agree with everyone who's already said this, Better players should start a higher level. Not just because of there a extensive winnings and experience prior to 2.0 but set incentives for other players to "try and be as good as those guys".

As soon as the update is released, many people (like me) will create loads of real time ranked games to try and get ahead :D

The question is - How to distinguish better players from the weaker ones, when even 90%+ win ratio is meaningless

Ofc winration doesn't count. they could give point for ladder result.

Also is there going to be a consequence for losing a game? Or only a positive consequence for winning a game, I don't have an answer maybe you guys might. Plus I wouldn't call that farming in the least. The farmer(s) I'm speaking of who we all know of, have buffed their stats before and could buff there levels at 2,0.

Points/levels is not a measure of skill. It is a fun little way for players to win stickers, treats, badges, and cookies as an incentive to play more games. It's like adding sugar or spice to your food to make you want to eat more. It also gives nonmembers a chance to unlock member features (another fun incentive to keep playing). It will determine your skill level in the same way single-player stats do. So arguing or even caring about this is unnecessary. It is like arguing over how much sugar your brother gets to add to his meal when you are equally able to eat your own meal.

Fizzer You wrote

I put a great deal of thought into this, in fact. I was very close to making a section on it in the blog post.

In the end, I feel the right decision is to start everyone at level 1*. Some people have been playing since 2008, and if the points were given out for every game played there would be tons of people who basically started out already done leveling.

The fun is really in the journey, not the destination. Think about the last RPG you played -- did you have more fun after you were max level, or while you were leveling up?

I played more than 2000 games in here and this makes me feel robbed. Actually I was on holidays for last days, came up and all those levels did apear, starting me with level 5, which make it the lowest in many games. It's unfair in my opinion, that it count only last 30 days. Just robbed and unfair in my opinion.

I don't care if You like in RPGs to go from 0. For me it's like cancelling all the time and effort I spent here. I don't like it.

I think that every player should have a right to decide on his own if he want to start from 0 or not, so he could write somewhere that point from certain time/date do count. If somebody want to pretend to be weak, he can always make a new account, or set a newer date. But if somebody want their all games count, he should have a right for it. Not everybody will think as You and not everyboud would agree for starting from level 1.

hmm i agree it would be great if the system analyzed all the history and included the games that have been already played.. It shouldn't be that hard to program either considering that all the previous finished games are still stored and accessible..

I guess it was counterproductive as probably to many non-members would unlock to many member-only features...

It's like someone come to You Fizzer and said: sorry we have to take Your primary and secondary schools education, so Your studies are not valid anymore as well, cause the program thaught in primary and secondary did changed. Sorry, we didn't tell You before that it might happen, but we change the rules.

The same when You put some unfair ranking which count point only from last 30 days.
I think it's evil and wrong.

on the other hand - is it disappointing? yes. Is the WL2.0 disappointing? so far - yes - especially for those who've paid for the game. it's definitely less than anyone expected. But.. It's Fizzers site, and this whole mess of levels and achievements does not change the fact of how much work and effort HE put in this game so we all can play it.. And It's a very good game as it is, and as it was before 2.0.

Fizzer actually took all trophies from your previous game and added those to your trophies(and gave points for them)
The points you get for playing games start now(which also kinda makes sense, since you get points based on player-level which wasn't there yet) but are *not* erased as you seem to be understanding seroslav.pl, the points-overview is just a detailed summary of your last 30 days, while your total points and level(which is what counts i believe) are there to stay or go up.

And i agree about the journey-over-destination-thingy, i rather seek out that low-skilled high-level player for extra points then getting a message "you are now level 100+, congrats" after introduction of the system.

Powerneg but that You thing that way and that Fizzer think that way doesn't mean that everyone think that way and that everyone would agree that few years of them playing won't count it's ok. Maybe for some of them it's not ok and it's not fair, and I am among them. That's why I think that a person should have a right to decide on their own, instead of being forced to agree with Your or Fizzers point of view.

Own decision, not being forced.

no it's not the same. in your example you lose a lot of things, but in warlight 2.0 nobody loses anything.

I feel I did lose. Noobs more active last days are a way ahead in those levels and if Fizzer won't change it some of them will be ahead forever, even if I did achieve more, played more, experienced more, spend more time, won more and are better then them. Is that fair? I don't think so it's fair comparison of players.

Seroslav why do you care about levels? What exactly do you want to acheieve from them? Also do you actually think anyone cares what level you are? It doesn't count for anything at all, even I know that :/ Since you are a non-member all you can gain from now on is new things, bigger games or tournaments for example.
