Lots of good players joining/rejoining the ladder: 7/9/2013 15:20:16

Take a look at my games that are unexpired. I surrendered a total of 10 because I had lost focus and wasn't planning on rejoining the ladder. Now my rating is at like 1700 on there. I don't want to play low rated guys who could beat me 1/10 times. If I'm on the ladder, I want to play the top players who can beat me close to half the time.

I don't agree with this logic but to each their own :)

That's because you aren't a good player, for me it is boring to play guys I can beat over and over again. The 1700 rating to me is like an 1100 rating to you, it just becomes no fun because I beat them at least 80% of the time, probably closer to 90%. I plan on staying around as long as I have time to focus on the games once I rejoin the ladder.

No, I don't agree because you shouldn't just mass surrender anyway :D You make a commitment when you join the ladder imo and you should play to this commitment (after quitting ladder, playing the last games normally).

jsa, looking at your ladder history you force me to ask you if you know how percentage works like... anyway, if you are THAT good you only need to win a few games to start playing with the 1800+ as you already are close to that

Pink, I know how percentage works, My last 8 games were from when I was about 1750 rating. I won 7/8, the one loss being by bad luck. That's 87.5% I believe, could have been even higher. So yeah I think I know how percentage works. I might rejoin when my game with nusoos expires which would be 10 days. We'll have to see.

126 games 75 victories = 59,5%
26 active games 13 victories= 50%
15 active games against players below 1800 8 victories = 53,3%

but if what you want to do with your maths is just sayign that you actually are as good as you wished you were, you may just say you won all your last 4 games = 100%, no matter their rank

You have no idea how good I actually am, do you pink? You just want to argue with me for the sake of it. Within the next 3 months, I will have the #1 spot in the ladder. Let's see you try to do the same and if neither of us gets it, we can see who does better.

my point is that you can only do it because you will do it the way you criticized for.

are the only 2 defeats which deserve what you said of them.... in the other you surrendered 2 soon, but you would have probably lost all of them, perhaps not with anonymous

Oh look, someone disagrees with me!
I better show him up in a 1v1 so that everything he ever said about me isn't valid!

I didn't even play a lot of those games, that was when I let grona take over my account for a bit. Let's take a look at the last games I played. I was 7-1 in my last 8. I didn't even bother playing against nusoos and The General, Would have beat Julkorn after picks, had the advantage on Anonymous, could have gone either way with monodriti. Not to mention, those last 8 were the only ones where I was about the level I am now. I am 24-7 in the last 31 games I have played that finished, over 15 of those against guys who were in the top 10 of the ladder at the time. NOt to mention two more I would have won. You really have no idea what you are talking about...

again, any good player may get the #1 if he starts when all his games expired.

Question: why do people let other people take over their accounts to play for a little while? Not sure I understand this.

Slammy, that was when I was getting burned out of warlight and ready to retire, along with being busy. I just needed a break. And since grona was the only member of apex without a membership at the time, I let him play on it. And he played 4-5 games and then surrendered the current 5 since he was getting a membership from dunga.

I am with you slammy. I don't understand it, or alternates either. I understand people need a break, but then just stop.

Only exception I see is a team situation where you don't want your teammates to just auto lose.

I really don't understand alternate accounts at all. At first it seems funny, but now there are so many it is just a giant cluster f*ck. What is the point? Unless you buy a membership with it and want to play 2v2 ladder, why do it? Some say to try out different strategies. Why can't you do that with a single account? Why hide behind some alternate that eventually someone figures it out anyway?

As far as letting losses expire before trying for #1, I don't really care. However you get there doesn't matter to me, as long as you try and last there. The point is to try and be king of the hill a while, not just sneak up there and run away IMO.
