actually - there is a point in what powerneg wrote. This might be a bit harsh, but very often it's true. (not judging if it's applicable here)

People only like women because they want to fuck them? Bit harsh on a lot of men, bit depressing for a lot of women.

He did not say that people only like women, because they want to fuck them, he said that men can put up with more with women irl because of that reason.

I dunno, it sounds to me like it's saying that men only talk to women because they want to sleep with them. "In real life, people like you for being a girl. They want to fuck you, and they pretend what you have to say is interesting, or that you are smart or clever." I'd be really interested to know how many men find this insulting? I know I'm skipping over the main point of the post, soz.

icvotria - take a note that that was a reply to some girl on a board (maybe 4chan or similar). It could have been a reply to an extremely stupid post..

What the cited poster stated is not a rule, but deos indeed sometimes apply. in real life "boys" will often pretend they agree with silly girls and/or are_interested in what they have to say only because they are girls, and.. younameit. It doesn't mean girls NEVER have anything interesting to say, nor that every girl is like that, because it's obviously not true.

The truth is - not only girls but generally people will never get the same attention when you limit their presence to just words they speak. Verbal communication is just a tiny bit of what you receive in a casual conversation whether you are aware of it and believe it or not.. It actually may go both ways - in an extremely handsome politician with great presence, pronounciation, body language etc will practically always have more followers than a stinky, sweat fat guy dressed in an old grey sweater full of holes and stains even when the second one's point of view and rhetoric would be flawless. We are animals. Very intelligent and complex, but still animals. and i mean homo sapiens as a whole species. not only it's male specimens...

I hadn't considered it was anything other than a sweeping generalisation, now I re-read it, it seems more likely to be directed at a particular person. I wasn't particularly wanting to disagree with the over-all message - there are plenty of extremely irritating people that I wouldn't have a conversation with just for the sake of it! - I just find it interesting to consider sexism from a male perspective, and was curious to see if any males were offended, or would have been were it directed at men and women in general, rather than a specific poster.

Fair enough. Sorry, I hadn't considered that it was supposed to be specific rather than general. The brand of feminism that's been touted around hasn't been to my liking so I think I felt a bit over-excited to wade in when I found something that I could be all seximsm's-bad-high-horse about!
