@myhand - What Naomi said. I'm quite disappointed honestly in your narrow way of thinking. Yes dubai is a mayor hub for europe and southeast-asia but if someone did his homework correctly he would realize it also flies a lot to africa and oceania.
I didn't really know africa too but seemingly the large on flight screens felt the tendency to show all the connections dubai has without me consenting to that boring topic at all :(

I didnt do any research to start with, I just happen to know a couple of things. And without any research I am pretty sure that the traffic to africa is negligible when compared with the traffic to southeastasia. Besides, flying to the middle east to land somewhere Africa is quite a devious route considering you take off in the netherlands.
I assume that the majority of african destinations from riad are egypt, the mahgreb and all other african muslim countries.
I was aware, even before Naomi posted, that Australia was a further option for your flight destination, but i didnt bother to make an additional post. It didnt seem worth the effort at the time.

Honestly, I am really disappointed in Aranka. I thought she was somewhat clever (in a very dumb way). This thread is really just appalling. I now consider Piggy, in his preliminary exhortation of "tits or gtfo", to be quite justified, if a little hasty.

It's still sexist, but Aranka deserved it. In this thread she's pretty much begging to be objectified. It's truly as pathetic as Piggy made her out to be.

I actually don't understand why and how the saying "feel like a princess" came from.
It's supposed to imply you feel special or are made to feel special.

But............

Does this saying really make sense in any way ??
Going back to the time princesses and such were the story of legends we go back to the themes of the Romanticism in the 18th century.
THemes in which the middle ages were made to be more appealing then they actually were. The stories were made by men mostly for men with chivalrious knights.
The women in question, be it a princess or not, was mostly just a 2nd rate person and more often then not a damsel in distress.
She was married off to the one who would give her father political power or inadvertently married the one who would rescue her. Own choice in love was hardly an option at all.

Furthermore....what was the position of women, if at all, during those times ??
THe women, being a women, had virtually no rights of her own. She wasn't allowed to be rape not on the foundation of the trauma this would cause to her but more so on the implications this would have for the family honour. It would be "inconvenient" for them.
They also had no voting power nor say in any matter.
Once a princess was married to her prince she had to do what he said. She was an instinutionalized thing. Had to sleep with the prince when he wanted and was barely allowed outside of the castle premises. More often then not locked up in her rooms with her maids around her. These maids were also not chosen by herself in the multitude of times so maintaining friendships would also be hard.

Concluding I think being "like a princess" would actually be a horrible thing.

How often is a satire mistaken for its subject? How often does a mirror show a prediction instead of a reflection? But please, don't allow my lamentations to impede upon ... whatever you would prefer to call this.
