Last time we had an Impaller vs The World event, The World ended up winning. Would you guys want another event like that? And who should be facing The World? Let's make a small poll:
- me
- Gui
- dead piggy
- Gnuffone
- Heyheuhei
- zibik
- unknownsoldier
- Timinator
- someone else (suggestions?)

Strat 1vs1 settings or some other settings? Come and vote!

^Made me laugh.

I think it would be interesting to see anyone who enjoys talking a lot (off that list) to play vs the world. People such as you, Gui, Dead Piggy, maybe Timinator. Besides just being great players, we could really see what you were thinking since you like to talk about it anyway when it's over.

wow.. that last time was in like 2010? ;) and you make it sound like it was yesterday.. but yeah - nice idea.. especially now in this era of wargaminglive... maybe combining it would be a good way to do it..

The theme song of the competition:

Seriously, is this idea not already like 1 in a dozen right now ??

Right out of my head I can already name 5 competitions with the same idea in the first page of this forum already

why not do a couple of these? i think all those players deserve the chance, maybe more as well. i think each player should get a few chances until one manages to get a really good/fun game with a lot of strategic depth, some are over within a few turns and completely decided on deployment, so it's possible to just end up with a bad game

I did participate in Imaller vs the World. It took on average 1,5 weeks per turn + a lot of work for the moderator (polls, updating the thread etc.).

i'd like to see something different: dead piggy AND timinator vs sze AND gnuff. play it out like vs the world. but each gets their own thread where they talk about their ideas with each other and the world. make it no or light fog so the world doesn't ruin anything too badly. reading how people agree and disagree on strategic options would be interesting, eespecially if contrasting styles and personalities are forced to cooperate.

Both Qi and Sze idea sound fun. I would do either, but someone Vs the world means they will be playing against 4/5ths of piggy, gui, sze, timi, luxis. When neither of us 5 could take the other 4, let alone with the rest of the worlds help.

I agree with [WG] Warlightvet here, many players are awesome candidates. Make one, see how it goes, and start another one once first ends, if it work well. Don't make more than one at a time.
Maybe better ask who would like to do it? That would shorten the list quite a bit I think.

And I like Qi's idea too. It should be even more interesting to watch, seeing whole picture at a time.

But some kind of rules infringement is possible in both events, that's important issue imo.

Edit:
@[WM] dead piggy: I thought that's the point, to beat the bad guy who wants to conquer the world, no?

I'd volunteer for me vs the world event since it's actually more work to be on the world's side. In any case the moves for the world are based on votes where strategies come from the moderator so I am not sure if 10 top players do have an advantage over 1.

It depends who the moderator is, why arent players allowed to suggest moves? To prevent everyone simply sheeping #1s?

Widzisz how did you edit 0.0?

Players are allowed to suggest, but there is a limited number of options for a poll.

In my opinion, I think we should have four to five guys play a round robin tournament and the winner should be the person who challenges the world. It's not very time conusming to play the extra games but it also helps us decide between 4-5 equally deserving guys.

In my opinion guys who should have a chance at it: Gnuffone (His challenge wins over HHH, Gui, and Red are impressive), Szeweningen, Dead piggy, Timinator, and I think the 5th person should be Gui. Invite all of them and then if two or more decline, then invite Luxis to take their place. That's my person opinion at least.

I think anyone who has reached first on the 1v1 would suffice. The questions really worth asking:

- who will make the world's turns and take the screenshots?
- who will help moderate or provide strategic options?
- who will arrange the voting so the world can determine it's moves?

If those things were quick and easy to do this type of set up would happen all the time.

I volunteer to do the moves for theWorld and take care of screenshots + put them in "theWorld-friendly" forum posts.

I can help with other tasks, but i will need at least somebody better than me to provide strategic options.. (but i do believe, the strategic options should be provided by a group of top-tier players and then to be decided by the community, not by one person)

In the last one, people in The World could promote their own options if they didn't like the pre-set ones, too.
