As Season 7 is one day away from ending, I (and probably a lot of other people) was wondering what settings we will be using for Season 8. Perhaps it will be Strategic Turkey? Or maybe Guiroma 1v1? However, people predicted those settings for Season 7, and we didn't get them (not that I'm complaining). So, what will it be? Hopefully not something on Med. Earth...

Nobody predicted what the Season 7 settings, its just everyone said they would prefer Guiroma, with a few saying Turkey. I think Guiroma and Turkey have passed their time of being a popular setting in the game though. They're still good but I think many people find them boring after playing them many times. I think Modified Medium Earth could be fun but people don't want that map. If you play against good people on Season 7, it proves interesting. If you play against bad players, or people who don't understand the settings well, it proves very boring in my opinion. I think Fizzer had a nice idea with it, but I think he should have picked Guiroma or Turkey and used Heavy Earth in a later season instead. I'm intersted to see what he picks for Season 8.

The Seasonal Ladders are simply another tournament, albeit a more public one. Being a ladder doesnt usually make a great deal of difference to anyone. After the first few games you end up playing a round robin with the players rated nearest you.
The one huge difference is that everyone plays the ladder. At the very least they give it a hard look and play a practice game. So the settings should be something undiscovered and underrated.
What tournament would you dismiss, but end up really enjoying?

At first, I was disappointed that it was on Medium Earth, but randomized bonus values sounds amazing. This should be a very interesting Season.
