I put a picture into inkscape to draw over, and I drew for a while just fine, but when I opened it today, I couldn't select the lines I had already made. I can still see them, and when I click them, it selects the pictures as if the picture is in front. But I have sent it to the back many times and set opacity to 50%.

Perhaps it has accidentally been placed in a different layer?
