I was reading around and thinking about how I'd like to play a game, so I was wondering if a map like this existed or not.. I also am not confident in my ability to create it on my own:

The idea would be to have an 'earth' map without territory bonuses, and have regional bonuses set to single territories that would represent key metro areas / strategic points on earth / industrial centers, etc. Then you would play with local deployment, so they only way to get new armies is to control key points of the map, and you could only deploy your armies from these points.

It would create a very strategic game in my opinion.

Ideas of key points that would have these bonuses:

Cities like New York, Tokyo, Berlin, etc
Key points like the Suez / Panama Canals
'Bread Basket' regions like the US Midwest, Argentina, Parts of Russia
Major Ports - Baltimore, Hong Kong

I might be interested in making a similar map for Earth...not sure. Pretty busy right now.
