Hi we said a while ago that we where going to be running a world cup (like the nations cup) http://warlight.net/Forum/Thread?ThreadID=5043 . So yeah me and Arun have been thinking of ideas and finally have finished planning it. So here we go:

3 RR for 1v1 32 Teams in each
2 RR for 2v2 32 Teams in each
1 RR for 3v3 32 Teams
1 RR for 5v5 32 Teams

1 game at a time or maybe 2
3 day direct boot and 5 day auto

Requirments:
-Less than 12% boot rate
-More than 100 games played

Scores: We might change this
1st place- 30 pts
2nd place- 27 pts
3rd place- 24 pts
4th place- 21 pts
5th place- 20 pts
6th place- 19 pts
and so on to 25
25th place- 1 pts
26th place- 0 pts
and so on to 32

How to apply
it's easy say that your interested give your country name on this thread then Arun(wca admin) will add you to a game with your country. You will then decide in that game your teams and captain. The team captain then will post his team with profile links and events they are doing.

All the scores will be added up at the end the country with the most points will win and might get a prize(not certain). If it is a tie there will be a 5v5 deciding round of a map decided.

Me and arun will start off the tournements later when we get all the teams.

i'd like to sign up for france 1V1, maybe 2V2 as well if the person i'm asking accepts

32 Teams in each RR?!? That's insane :( I'm pretty sure maximum number of players you can have in RR (Teams) is 20.

Also, you might want to change the max number of points 1st place gets, so that the last place does not end up with a negative amount of points. 50 is a good number to start with

1st = 50
2nd = 47
3rd = 45
4th = 43
5th = 42
6th = 40

And so on. I don't think the numbers I have will bring the last place with an even 1 point, but better have more points than negative points.

Few tips about separating World Regions:
Oceania should change to accommodate both New Zealand/Australia/Other Islands.
South America (w/o Brazil) you should change to maybe N. and S. South America.
Same with India/Rest of Asia.

Just a question, but do we have to pick the country that we are living in?

If so, I will take a slot in USA East.

Tourney will be different, will be similar to the Soccer World Cup. There will be a few of Round Robins (with around 4 or so teams in each) followed by a knockout stage with the top two (or one, depending on numbers) going into the knockouts.

@mian a player for each 1v1. Also u can't take part in the same event more than once.

Grop stage: RR
8 groups with 4 teams or players. Top 2 go through
Last 16: SE
Then whoever wins the final is the winner.

However how are we meant to score it.
