Instead of having set numbers of people that can enter i.e for 1v1 tournament 2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,512 etc

Why cant you just set up a tournament for whatever number you like or even open ended and then just start the tournament after a certain amount of time

“It wont work” I hear all of you saying

“YES IT WILL!” I say in return... all you need to do is give random people bys into the second round.

So for example after the registration period you have 60 people that are interested then 56 people battle it out in the 1st round (round of “64” ) and 4 random people get a by into the 2nd round (round of 32). That way you have a full round of 32 and everything follows from there like normal

I think this would stop a lot of tournament stalling because of not enough people registering. Sometimes the tournaments take so long to start that half the people have then left Warlight.

Of course if you didn’t like the idea of Bys you could just wait for the tournament to fill up but at least you would have the option to start it early if your tournament idea is more unpopular than you first thought

It would particularly work well for the Free Membership tournaments where you could just have the registration period open for say 1 week and then start it

Seems unfair to just let people sjip a round and work for it,will be better probability for bys to win.

This method happens in most amature tournaments for.... well anything really

lets say you turn up for a chess tournament, a martial arts tournament, a backgammon tournament, a head to head Poker tournament etc etc etc and 56 people turn up. what do you think they do? Ask 24 people to go home so they can make it a round 32 people?

It was created on 10th February 2012!!! Its almost a year old and there are still 200+ people to go. Now how many of the people that joined do you think are still active? My guess is that there are going to be a lot of boots

all I’m saying is it would have been nice to have the option to kick start the tournament after a month or so to salvage what could have been a nice tournament

It would help real-time tournaments, but I agree that it would be unfair to have someone just skip a round.
