Dude, whilst I don't play text based rpgs I do know that the decent ones are done well with a good GM.
If you don't put any effort in setting the scene and getting players before you start you're never going to get a decent one going.
My advice is have a think about what kind of game you want going, describe it well and set the scene, explain the rules and gauge interest, get people to sign up to it and go from there.
No ones going to join a game like that if the GM can't string a few paragraphs together.
