How do you make an argument to keep Julien?

Lets start with the premise that the bruins have the talent to be title contenders since before they won the cup? I think thats fair, the team hasn't changed much.

Under his watch we have made it past the first round 3 times (1 being the cup, 1 being an embarassign second round loss, and than this season).

We have seen collapses that any other team would have fired their coach for. Philly up 3-0 and this season up 3-1. Total choke jobs.

IF they have the talent to conted they have the talent to score. Why don't they? They have one of the worst powerplays in the league for at least the last 5 seasons. How do you explain this? He has to be held responsible.

We have seen complete futility from him more often than glimpses of brillaince. If it wasn't for Tim Thomas Julien would not have won the cup and would have been fired by now. I don't think he should be rewarded for someone else's work and his own doesn't merit his continuation here.

In other words, you dislike success and would rather return to the incompetent days of Sinden, OConnell and Lewis.

Tim Thomas was a journayman nobody until Claude showed up. It could just as easily be said that Thomas would never have won two Vezinas, a Smythe and a Cup without Claude's faith in him. But no, all credit goes to Thomas, none to the coach. Just as I am sure you feel Bergeron wins 2 Selkes (an assumption) in SPITE of his coach instead of in large part because of his coach.

I assume we have the talent to compete. Assuming this what tangible results has Julien had? He has overseen epic collapses most years and a laughable power play. There is more talent in boston today then there has been since Orr played, comparing coaches who didn't have the talent to coaches who do is ridiculous.

We have one of the best even strength and pk in the league. But tell me how this is a result of Julien and not the talent on the team?

Tim Thomas was a journeyman who for the last couple of years has been the best goaltender in the NHL. To take away from that is crude. He won boston the cup. The system helps goaltenders but Thomas took boston and won us the cup. As better analysts than us have given credit to Thomas over Julien, I'll continue to do just that. Boston had an opening at goalie and Thomas performed and earned that spot, there was no one else to play.

Bergeron is one of the most talented players in the league today. He deserves the praise.

Juliens system helps goalies and helps players like Bergeron. Does it help the team overall, I think it doesn't. There has been to much futility under his watch to just sweep away saying he won the cup (something a larger part of the community think Thomas did).

Coaches have a shelf life. Julien's has passed. NJ was right to fire him when he had that great season there. Boston would be better with a new coach.

Mike babcock is a better coach and consistently does more with lesser talent.

Thomas was the best goalie in the NHL. Our team has talent that it hasn't for ages. The roster is stacked. Julien's system has led to monumental collapses, do you not put any blame in him for that? Theres enough talent to have a successfull pp, theres enough talent to have a successful team. Julien won't let them play anything close to an offensive game and as a result we are stuck.

IF I'm wrong how do you rationalize their failures? Do the players not play for the coach? If so wouldn't it be best to have a coach they will play for?

Bellichick made a terrible decision in letting Welker go. He has let his stubborness ride over his common sense and the good of the team. I think he has stolen the last couple of years of Bradys career and mired us in mediocrity. I see the Patriots being bad this season.
