So I just started creating a map and I'm planning on making a pretty illustrative one too , soo...yeah , I'm just starting , I've started with creating an outline and stuff , I wanted some tips with neighboring territories I've seen a lot of maps with neighboring territories well attached and they appear separate when zoomed. So I just wanted a few tips on that , also , I wanted to know if I have to create seperate layers for each territory? (I'm assuming yes lol)

Hope that helps ^^

Good to see a map builder from the WJC. We have Cephistokles who makes loads of maps but doesn't publish them :/ He makes great RP games with them though, but they are all 'map testing' games.

There's no need for more than one layer in each WL map, as long as every territory has it's own ID.

I'm thinking of doing india , because it's got outer islands (known as the andaman and nicobar) and I can use'em for extra bonuses to add more fun to the map.
and I was wondering something , taking Rise of Rome as an example , there's a special bonus for capturing particular areas (The bonus are called , Parthian Empire bonus , Carthigan Empire Bonus , Roman empire bonus and Barbarian Empire bonus)
So , do I have to add a different 15x15 box out mentioning about the bonuses?
And if yes , how do I assign it to them? I mean when you click on one of the buttons which tell about bonuses , it highlights all the territories which come in that bonus , that is also something I wanted to know.
I hope I'm clear enough and yeah it's good that I'm doing it because I've been wishing to do it for a while :P and TJC* :P :P
and cool , is it possible I can talk to him somehow? I'm a graphic designer too , maybe we both can work on something together.

^read, watch and learn :)

For the bonussquares:
1. Make a box 15x15 or 16x16 in Inkscape (in the same file as your map of course)
2. Name it: BonusLink_Example (use the name of the bonus where example is now.)
3. save the file.
4. Go to de WL map designer.
5. Go to your map
6. upload the file
7. press "bonuses window"
8. Press "create new bonus"
9. Fill in the name of your bonus (without "BonusLink_" , so in this case you would have to fill in Example.)
10. Change colour and value
11. press "confirm"
12. Press "select territories" (upper left corner)
13. Select a territory
14. Lower left corner you have the option to name your territory and put it in bonus(es)
15. click the bonus(es) you want the territory in and you are done.

I hope that is clear.

You have to make a box for every bonus you make and if you want to make superbonuses like "Roman empire bonus" you also just make a box (or make it a bit bigger, so it is clear that it is a super bonus) and just press territories and put them in this big bonus.
TIP: If you make a superbonus, which contains multiple smaller bonuses, you can just select the smaller bonus and put it in the big bonus at once, without having to click every territory. (just click the bonussquare and lower left corner put it into the superbonus.

Yeah , I'm sorry , that is exactly what I meant when I said all that , I meant about a "Superbonus" or "Megabonus" , so I just have to create similar 15x15 boxes , for that , right?
Got it , thanks :)
Hopefully this one will turn out right lol :D
and this is my first try on a real world map , any tips with states? please? D:
Should I make them all separately and then align them together? like a puzzle? or should I just keep on following a big map's trace out and divide each state's territory.
Example : Taking Jammu & Kashmir of India (it's the first state I start from) , and dividing it into say about 6-7 parts as I make them. and adding "Territory_1 , _2 ,_3 etc." on each one as I keep making each part ,starting from first to seventh and then align them?

I think I'm finally getting a hold of this lol , brace yourselves people you might have a map up for testing in almost a week :P
and if it works out just fine , I might make a bigger version , then a even bigger version with south east asia , then maybe early century kingdoms (chinese , filipino , indian etc.).
I just hope warlight creators appreciate the hardwork I'm putting into this thing :P
speaking of hard work ,do I get a discount on membership or free membership if my map becomes popular?
If not I think we all should because it's a lot of hardwork being put into this freaking thing :P
