So i made this awesome map. I was so proud. This was really my greatest work so far in my life. Im sure this map could change the world someday.

But then it happened. I couldn't believe my own eyes. I.. I didn't know what to do anymore. *tears falling down, making an ocean on the ground*
My map was refused to go public. I got these words thrown at me:
Maps should have some strategic value. This map is functionally identical to the Duel map. Do you really think WarLight needs more duel maps?

Is this the thanks I get for making the world a better place?

I agree with Fizzer. We could have hundreds of maps that are dual maps with just different looks. How does that add any value to the site? Especially when we have the site crashing from heavy load. I don't know how much space maps take up, but it certainly doesn't add anything.

There is only one (with 2 territories)

At first I though they were eggs haha...

Aren't they?

How does that add any value to the site?

Well, it adds two potatoes.
And hey, how does the 'cow map' add anything? oh oh, and the 'pig map' ?

Especially when we have the site crashing from heavy load. I don't know how much space maps take up, but it certainly doesn't add anything.

Looking at all those weird maps (And not to talk about HUGE maps) out there, I think we could afford to squeeze this one in :)

I agree with Fizzer.

Me too

Needs more potatoes

Agreed!!!!!

I quit. Not playing a game without a dueling potato map.

I know, right!

it's much better looking than the duel map! maybe you make it 6 ffa? or if that already exists 7ffa?

Wow, you are in lvl 60! ... oh.. yeah, I could try, but I don't quite see its value rising by doing that :/

fiizer is right. man they are not even swimming.

You're right, I should do something about that..

but I like it:)

That's the spirit!

Why making a map with only 2 territories?
I agree with Fizzer on this subject.
Your map is more a beautiful drawing, but it really sucks as a map.

I think it should replace the ninja v pirate map. Potato duels are much more interesting to watch than ninjas & pirates.

Another very strategic map from Banana! I have no clue why fizzer refused to publish this map; it is clearly useful for some exciting gameplay, as well as a fresh map for duel lottos...

+1 Apollo and slammy

Wait, so, does it mean, if i created a map with the same amount of territory of another map, my map won't be able to go public?

That's not really fair. The mapmaker was working on making maps of all the counties of Rhode Island, with the goal of then combining all of those maps into one huge map. I played a testing game on it and really liked it. I'm unsure why (and sad because) it never went public.
Was it overly useful to publish 9175 as an independent map? Okay, maybe not. But using it in this context as an example of a bad map is unfair.

It's not only about the number of territories, it's also about the way they are connected. Of course, with just two territories, you don't have a lot of options on how to connect them, just one in fact. For three territories there's two ways on how to connect them (in a "triangle" such as the Truel map, or in a "line" such as the map Monster Party linked to).

But for a "sensible" number of territories, there's a huge number of ways to connect them and two maps having the same number of territories in no way means they are automatically "essentially the same map".
