I see help on how to basically revise/replace your map with a newer version:

But what is the easiest way to make a 2.0 version (and still have version 1.0 running parallel)? Obviously I have my SVG, and could simply make a new map in Warlight and upload. But, then I have to name territories, set center points, connections, bonuses, etc. I'd rather copy my map in warlight and have both versions public.

Anyone know a good way?

Nope, you can't have two versions of the same map working in that fashion. You would need to re-upload your svg in a different map family.

One would be optimized for 1v1 and 2v2, the other for 3v3

bonus values or even some bonusses may be divided in a slightly different manner. I've been thinking about the same thing the other day - it would be great despite theoretically limited application of the feature..

If you make a template for v1.0 and then publish the v2.0 you can still use your template with the previous version. But it works only with your personal templates, create new games with the previous versions are not possible.

So here is what I am going to do:

1) Version I - Currently has bonuses configured best for 3v3 play

2) Version II - Will have some bonuses combined, better suited to play 1s and 2s

The issue is to make version II, apparently I have to make a new map family and start over the portion you have to do on the site.

Another useful use would be to make a diplomacy map out of a large map (like with world nations 2012 and big world).

If you want bonus A and B on map I to be replaced with bonus C on map II, just add C to map I and set it to 0, that way it will be invisible. And make a template with C at the correct value and A and B at 0 and place that template link in map I's description.
