There is no reason I should be losing to you. My WarLight IQ is higher than yours and I'm a much better player. I'm just making some errors in my fundamentals you and some other weak players take advantage of.

HMS, I disagree with that statement. Billy is a decent player. He is not as good as he could be against weaker players. As for that, I would suggest to look at 5 of your opponent's games before you play them to see whether they are a weak or strong player so you know how to play them. Part of the reason I dropped out of the ladder is because I was losing to weaker players because I didn't have time to think through moves and look at their previous games. But while he can play with the top guys sometimes, he's not at that level. He outplay Doggy but most of the other 3-4 good players that he beat was luck. He also lost to a couple good players like Sir F Bombs. I think he is rated a bit high right now because he is not at the level yet to be up there with the good players. I think he's just gotten lucky. But if he takes my advice and gets to know his opponent's styles before the game, he could eliminate some of his losses against weaker players and he'd have a good chance of staying around that rating.

Ryan, as for the invintational, I was kinda planning on top 25 ladder players (above 1800 rating for sure) to be invited, because my first invintational had a low level of competition (over half were below 30 in the ladder) and I ended up losing only one game in it because there was not many good players. Maybe you can be invited to the next one though.

I just checked over your 5 biggest wins again Billy. Against Heyheuhei, he got unlucky. With more luck, he would have won early on. Against Mentysh, he picked australia 4th, which is not a good pick in that scenerio and it cost him. Against Niko, he had a bit of bad luck and then compounded the problem by attacking with extra to thailand, assuming you were in indonesia. Against Idfdoggy and Red, you simply played better in the game. That's 2/5 of those wins that you completely deserved to win. But in all 5, you did take advantage of the opponent's mistakes and bad luck which many guys would not do. So overall, you got lucky but you also managed to hold on in the games, showing you are a decent to good player at strategic 1v1. Now I want to see you in team games :p

It still takes skill to beat good players with slightly better luck in turns 1 and 2. There are many opportunities to make mistakes that can cost you the game - as my game with Ryan shows. That I don't make them is the reason I'm winning, not because I'm getting lucky.

Yeah Billy. You aren't good. Because you win. And when you win, you find ways to win. Sometimes it is because of luck. But you still win much more often than you lose. So you are not very good, especially when you beat players I expect you to lose against.

Billy, I said you were decent to good because you did end up holding on for the wins when you got lucky. And in 2 of those wins, you did not get lucky, just purely outplayed your opponents. You are a good player. But you are not one of the best.
