From Alex:
Secondly we only started late August and we have only been a clan for a short time. We just starting to get to each other and how one another plays. All these players are all at least average (I'm not saying there the best on warlight now) . An you have to remember JSA they haven't been playing warlight longer than you they aren't as expirenced than you are. Look back to when you had only played about 500 I bet you were terrible compared to what you are now. Players improve. They start off crap then they progrese (P)clan then when they come to play about 1500 games they are better and good players. Also when they start to play a lot of games with there other clan members they progress in team play and become strong as they know each other well, that's what I'm meaning by potential. They have potential to be good in the future. Lets look your old clan p which you left for better, and now they don't have any really good players.

It doesn't take 500 games to figure out if you are good or have potential to be such. I have 140 games in and I already have a pretty good idea that I am good (could still use some work), but not great. I think you can pretty much tell how good someone can be by then (if you play with them enough to gauge it). I have no idea who on your clan will or won't be good (for all I know they played 1000 games before asking for help, and now they are much improved). There are still some decent players in [P] also. You should probably set up a match with some of them if you want to measure yourself against them.

Bottom line is I don't think it takes a high volume to be good (it can only help). What is more important is the type of games and whether you learn from them. I join a lot of auto games (I join first so I am not cherry picking) and I've beat some people many times easily in them. They don't seem to learn anything from the matches at all. But when I get beat, I can always pinpoint one mistake I made and try to correct it going forward. I am not perfect, but good players need to learn from their mistakes or all the games in the world won't help a bit.

Again, this isn't a judgement on your clan. I can't speak to that until we face you in the challenge.

Put of curiosity, approximately how many people would there be among best players? 5? 10? 100? 1000?

Are you asking me? I have no idea. I have not even competed in a ladder. I'm just saying in the games I participate in (auto games, tournaments invited by clan leaders, proving ground C league)...I would say I am in the 80th percentile.

But again, I'm not playing you, Dunga and the other top players that I've watched videos of.

My guess is there is a small pool (maybe 10-15 players) that are at the top of the game, then it probably drops off a notch after that.

You tell me. How would you break down the top players (not by name, but groupings)? How many would you put into each tier?

I was asking Alex since he claimed his previous statements were correct. I want to know how does he categorize best/good etc.. With loose enough interpretations it can lose all meaning.

Since someone brought my name up, allow me to put in my two cents.

Roughly 9 months ago (an estimate), Kereosa (then known as Bakapon)... So obviously either he hasn't improved or else I have improved at a much faster rate than him.

Up until 9/3/2012, when I changed my username from Bakapon to Kerosea, I really wasn't focused on improving my game. If I remember correctly, I was still under the name of Bakapon at the time, so I probably wasn't getting much better, if at all. (Baka = Idiot)

As for the 101st, I'm wondering where Alex got that ranking from. As a relatively new member to the clan, I don't think I should be placed up there like that. (Though, if you do hope for 101st to become better, an in-clan RR would be a nice place to start, assuming you haven't done so already.)

With all that being said, I definitely would not put my name up as one of the top 1,000. Szew is here, and I'm sure he knows how average I am due to the live tournaments. I'd give myself 65th percentile due to the fact that there's more beginners than pros.

Right ok foget everything I said on this thread because I don't want to waste my time arguing on a gaming site :) so I decided from all the stick I got to change the clan plan and we are now not competitor anymore we are now a fun clan which plays role-playing games (which we already do) and other fun games and we will be not competing anymore to be the best.

That is my decision if your gonna argue about this to. go a head I'm gonna ignore.

Sorry kerosea for using your name :/
