I've said it before and I'll say it again. I'd love to spend all of my time working on adding new features, game mechanics, and such. To me, that's the fun part. Working on payments and stuff is boring.
However, WarLight has to make money to survive. It costs over $1000 per month just to keep the servers online, and beyond that if I can't pay my rent I'd have to quit and go get a real job. And if I quit I'll never get to work on the fun stuff. So there has to be a balance.
The strategy pack and maps pack were added as a result of people asking for them. I get contacted by lots of people who want to play a strategic game with their friends, but don't want to spend time leveling up. Obviously, if you've already leveled up, these features won't interest you.
Even less incentive for new members to buy the membership
I don't understand this at all. The packs and membership unlock different things. They actually complement each other.
now if you want change names you have to pay 4$
That's completely incorrect. The payment option is added only for people who want name changes more often than once every 5 levels, which was impossible before.
The whole point here is to strike a balance between sites that never let you change your name (which I always find annoying), and other services that let you change it freely (which is even more annoying, since some people change it every day and you can never keep track of them.)
