Seconded. The mindset of the Japanese was fanatical, nothing but the Atom Bomb would've swayed their minds. An invasion would've been suicidal for the Americans, quite literally. They would've fought until we either gave up or they kicked us out and continued pursuing us. The Bombs showed that we had the power to wipe them completely out without losing a soldier. We would've continued with more Atom Bombs too if the 2 weren't sufficient. That's how serious the situation was.

"portugal if you look it up was a huge ally of the english and those territories that seem stupid would fill up a very small map and create odd twists to a game people would think irrelevand a large reason italy lost is because it soent billions fighting the ethiopians". but they were enutral during the second world war and sold stuff to both sides. In the end they became closer to the us... but some ppl say that lajes might have beeen ocuppied by the us prior to the authorisation by the portuguese state

Luftwaffe fighter planes far outguned, outmanouvered and had much more speed than UK fighters.

But again Hitler was the leader of every millitary part of Germany and he wanted to bomb the british to submishion instead of fighting them whit fighter planes in the air.

The reason the british planes planes smashed the German planes 4:1 is because the German planes were light Bombers whit no defence and few excort fighters.

US lost few ships in pearl harbor totally, most of the bombed ships were up and running after just few months.

This was because the japanese man that lead the attack on pearl harbor thoug it were dishonorly to attack the undefended US naval Yards and the fuel storage(whic was planned to be bombed in a second attack wawe by the Japanese admiral, but the seconadry man that lead the attack thoug it was stupid to send a second wawe to attack when the first allred destroyed the ships).

If the Naval yards had been destroyed the US would have had to use months to repair them before they could even begin repair the ships and in this time the ships would have gotten into an even worse condition).

The fuel storage held millions of gallons of fuel and it were enough in them to drive the whole American fleet for 8 month, if this fuel had went up in flames it would have taken 2-3 years to replace it and US would have been unable to make any major moves at all.

Friday I'll be doing the standing armies myself unless someone else wants to suggest totals for each country on my current map :)

Heres what i think the major superpowers should each have.

Germany: 75

UK plus its colonies: 60

Japan: 65

USSR: 70

US: 80

These my be overpowering some people but it makes sense. Germany at that time owned much of europe, including france and some of soviet russia's former territories. Britain was very close to losing, having been recently bombed a lot. Japan had most of the pacific, but still dint have either the resources or the men. USSR, while they didnt have the best army training wise, they had a large, loyal army determined to stop germany. USA, arguably the strongest country at that time, began mass producing ships, planes, etc, as well as a fairly large armie as well. If you guys have any suggestions, just say it.

I cannot believe that you just said "USA, arguably the strongest country at that time"

USA was weak in the early war but got strong towards the end because of its high production(income) but had a weak army, navy and airforce in the beginning of the war.

thats the reason few thought USA wouldnt be able to play any big role in WW2.

USA already has high income. The standing armies for USA should be pretty low.

Total Standing Armies:

A: Germany: 120
B: Japan: 100
C: Vichy France: 50
D: Italy: 50
E: Finland: 25
F: England: 60
G: USA: 40
H: Canada: 20
I: Russia: 50
J: China: 20
K: British Africa: 20
L: Free France: 20
M: Pan-America: 0
N: Commonwealth of Australia: 30

Axis Total: 345
Allies Total: 260

Difference: 85 Axis Favor

Total Incomes:

A: Germany: 67
B: Japan: 63
C: Vichy France: 45
D: Italy: 30
E: Finland: 15
F: England: 52
G: USA: 52
H: Canada: 13
I: Russia: 72
J: China: 13
K: British Africa: 49
L: Free France: 19
M: Pan-America: 47
N: Commonwealth of Australia: 14

Axis Total: 220
Allies Total: 331

Difference: 110 Allies Favor

Assuming I keep the standing armies total roughly the same here are the fixes I would want to do:

1. British Africa's income --> 30-35
2. Pan-America's income --> 20-25
3. Japan's income --> 65-70
4. USA's income --> Forced largest income. (80-85)
5. Russia's income --> 50-55

Problems I face:

Making sure Russia stays alive long enough to remain an important factor.

Making sure that the most optimal move for Pan-America isn't expansion, but joining the fight ASAP.

Making sure Australia doesn't die within 4-5 turns.

Making sure most optimal move for England is to keep England. (Kinda funny huh?)

Any solutions?

increase standing armies in all them tough places.For england do it in a way that england does not move it's huge standing army but it deters attack.Oceania higher standing armies will make it last longer. You have no problem with russia just spread and keep loads of their standing army east and if they do get attacked russia can still be a presence in distracting and other things.

For england perhaps it can have 30 guys on its border (while germany has 10 or 15) so england doesnt fall in 1 turn. Perhaps Russia can have reserve armies of around 5-10 guys to airlift while have 20 guys on spots bordered by germany. Dont know what to do for the rest, but good choices for incomes and standing armies.

there should be a high income for russia, but low starting troops. and you have to forget this pan american stuff dude, it makes no sense. honeslty like mexico? brazil? these countries were never going to create armies and if they did they would be a outdated horribly lead group of inexperienced soldiers. australia should be in a position to die within 4/5 turns because that was like real life. you should put the british right over there to act like the navy. and americans a few turns away. so they can aid australia like they did in real life.

a suggestion. we all know there are good and bad players on this site. we all know some countries had better leaders than others. give countries like germany and england to good players and countries like america and japan to medium players. and give countries like russia to bad ones. or inexperienced to use the politically correct term

I'm leaving Pan-American Union there because otherwise all of Africa becomes free land for Axis. I completely nerfed them entirely so the African region will have to play well in order to make any difference. For the Australian suggestion, I'm going to take it. :)

As for the countries. I was going to host mini-tournaments in order to decide who gets what country, and then 1 massive game with everyone. I was planning on announcing the details tomorrow.

Btw, this is updated to my post: http://warlight.net/SinglePlayer.aspx?TemplateID=230279

I'll tweak some things to give the British some navy in the area.

not sure if you're familiar with the tournament that was started that involved generals commanding people. i would sugges this. have large nations be able to tell the lesser ones, what to do. also i would have an airlift card. that acts like a ship or plane that carries troops. use the cards as metaphors for real vehicles, spies etc.
