It really was, he caught his trailing leg. It should've been a red card as well since it denied a clear goal scoring opportunity.

It wasnt a penalty as Costa seeked the leg himself and seemed to have stepped on it on purpose. Even if he didn`t, he fell real easy.

Certainly not. The first half was played very badly on the dutch half. We were lucky to end the first half with 1-1 and not 3-1 or something. Eventhough we completely owned them in the second half (were we indeed could`ve made it 7-1) I don`t think we would`ve even been close to it when the first half would have been more like some say the second half could`ve been.

Besides that, I see that our defensive line needs some work on. We made to many mistakes in the first half.

Besides all of this ofcourse congrats to the dutch team, I`m sure most of us are very proud of you guys. Well done. The score is just absolutely astonishing and not easy to believe.

As a FIFA certified referee, I myself have to admit, it was a close call, but I believe that the referee made the right decision. There was complete body contact which is a direct freekick (in the box is a penalty), and whilst it was unintentional, it was also denying a possible goal-scoring opportunity.
It was a penalty (imo), but not deserving of a card.


Also, Netherlands played amazing, regardless. Robben is a legend!

Van Persie's first goal was so beautiful. One of my favourites in a long time.

Most of the other goals were more a result of terrible defense than excellence on the part of the Dutch. Casillas in particular was horrible.
